So who exactly is heading up the planning? And does anybody know if we need to get a permit for the park? -------------------- I married my grease monkey ;)

I'll more than likely be bringing the Celi, and a semi-crappy camera. I won't miss an opportunity for some good pictures, since I have none of my car lol. It won't be the best looking car there, but it's not too bad either.
that-one-girl, since you aren't familiar with the St. Louis area, I'm right along the way between South Bend and St. Louis. I'll just meet you somewhere and caravan the rest of the way. And Freddy, that's some pretty impressive gas mileage! The best I have seen with my car is 33 mpg. The worst I have seen is when I really granny-drive the car- mine HATES when I shift before 2,000 rpm. I have also noticed that I get better gas mileage at 70 than at 60, which seems counterintuitive since the motor is screaming at 70. Oh well lol -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. my car is an automatic, the gearing is different than a manual,it has 4 gears, i get my best gas mileage at around 60-65. Keison yea just pm me when you figure stuff out, anyone else that will be spending the night let keison know, im sure we could find a room for 4 if need be. I'm excited that weekend works for me too. So Klondike June 12-13 is what we're planing on, anyone is welcome, celica's are not mandatory but it would be nice if you did bring your celica's for taking pictures. Let's plan on meeting there around noon-ish if that works for everyone, hangout, meet one another, take pictures, go drive around. Bring whatever you think would be fun to do like a football, frisbee, etc. we also have to decide on what were gonna do for a bbq im assuming were doing a bbq. does this park have built in grills, and what are we grilling? post up what you think would be good.

Thanx richee No problem And Freddy, the automatic will do that for you haha. I had an ST auto, and 34 mpg was nothing in that car. I miss getting that kind of gas mileage, but my consistent 30 isn't bad. As of right now, it's assumed that I will be bringing the Celi, but I was just throwing a heads-up that I might have to bring the Camry. But a Celica meet wouldn't be a Celica meet if none of us drove out Celicas, would it? -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. And thanks, that's nice to know that if anything happened, you guys would help me out. I'm not that far from St. Louis, and my cousin may actually be at his house that weekend (it's just his house for school- he actually lives here by me.), so if for any reason the Celica won't make it home, I won't be stranded. It's just a matter of convincing my parents of that. No biggie! I've been up against worse odds. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. I'm all for helping to get this going. But I have no clue if I'll be able to make it. It'll probably come down to not knowing untill the night before, or maybe even that morning. Its not on purpose, but by mid June I should have a 2 1/2 month old baby at home, so if momma says I stay, then I stay.
Just keep us up on what has been done to get this going. and let us know what you need a hand with. It looks like pavilion rental is something like $40-$60 depending on how many people we have showing up. -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold

Yeah, congratulations! Bring the whole family! Lol
So it's looking like $40 apiece? Sounds good to me. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. Even Socrates told us to use the search button!

Yeah, congratulations! Bring the whole family! Lol So it's looking like $40 apiece? Sounds good to me. No, Its $40 for the pavillion rental. so that could easily be split between everyone coming. I haven't called or anything, so I don't know if the prices on the site are current, or if someone nearby can get a 'resident' discount or something. -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold

So I called the park, I can make a payment online to reserve the shelter for the 12th for the whole day would be 40$, I can make the reservation no problem, parking is only available if you rent a shelter and it would be on the shelter site. Before I make the reservation I just want to know how many are coming, I'm sure a small shelter would suffice for us. I'm assuming maybe max of 20 would show. Get the word out to everyone, I'd like a lot of people to show. So let's figure meet at the park around noon on the the 12th. We need to figure out who's bringing what, I'll bring a camera to take pictures. I have a good feeling we'll have a good turnout though.

Just got pm from Stl95Celica and got on the thread. I didn't know there were this many people from the Midwest, as it seemed like most members were from Florida or California, but I am new around here. I just purchased my Celica in June, and it had front end damage (bumper, hood, radiator support, etc..) so I have been anxious to actually drive the thing all put together, so this meet next June might just give me an excuse for a road trip.
Although, we are expecting our second child in late December, so like Jimmykay, I will have a 6 month old and a 2 year old at home, so road trips may be out of the question, but let's hope I can get out for at least a day or two here or there. I'll keep an eye on this thread and I will put it on my calendar for June 12-13, 2010. Thanks. |

What all needs to be brought Freddy? whatever you think would be fun, drugs, hookers, etc. , no like a football, a camera for taking pictures, a frisbee, if anyone is staying over night I'm probably going to catch a game of golf the day after before I drive back home, I like experiencing courses not around my hometown, not for certain yet though. Also food is another thing, I think a bbq would be best, but we should cruise and stop at a bakers or some food store and buy whatever so its fresh and doesn't go bad on the trip there, 8hrs in my case. -------------------- Representing the Convertible Crew since 2008 |

$40 for the entire day isn't bad at all.
As far as the food, I only live 2 hours away so whatever I could bring would still be fresh, but it makes a lot more sense to get there and see what all we need, such as charcoal, how many burgers/hot dogs/buns/etc. we'll need and then go do some shopping. Would we be doing both lunch and dinner, or just a meal in the middle of the day, or what? And I guess, what time would we all be disbanding at night? Would we need night entertainment or would we all be heading our separate ways? I'm really looking forward to this meet. Fastbird is the closest member to me so far as I can tell, and he's still 2 hours away. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates.
