So first of all I just want to let you all know that I have been competing at car audio events for over 10 years and have very good knowledge of anything that has to do with car audio. That being said, when the owner of the local car audio shop that I have been going to since before I could drive recommended marine speakers I thought he was crazy!! It just so happens that he has 2 pairs of them installed in his own car and being that he has the "pick of the litter" I decided to give them a listen. I couldn't believe what I was hearing!! Since they are 8" speakers they have a lot of bass, and they fit in my doors with no modification whatsoever! Plus they are white and you can just barely see them from behind the factory speaker grilles so they look good. They are expensive (they retail for $300 but I got mine for $150), and I would recommend hooking them to an amp, but they sound amazing! I have spent as much as $800 for a pair of MB Quart components and I think these sound better!

These are the marine version of Memphis' MSYNC-8 woofers, which are fairly well regarded. Another option, which I'm using in the doors of my fifth-gen, are Focal 210 CA1. Which is to say, Focal brand, 210 mm/8", co-axial, from the Access1 (entry) line. Great speakers, very high build quality, and designed to handle a less than ideal speaker environment such as you'd find in a door.
I purchased my set for C$199, but with the exchange and the higher prices for electronics in Canada you could probably find them for much less. |

they are not necessarily for boats, they are also for convertible cars or vehicles with exposed to the elements. basically rugged vehicles like jeep wranglers.

These are the only ones I found that are the new model, you can find the old model for cheaper, just search...
http://carjamz.com/zen/index.php?main_page...products_id=589 The stock amp would sound ok, but an aftermarket amp and head unit would make them sound much better! This post has been edited by ChfNix: Sep 9, 2009 - 10:05 AM -------------------- Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!

so with these do you still have cross overs for the tweeters or did you take those out?

With your current setup, how would you say they perform and sound? |

Fourth, don't you know that Pyle sucks!! -------------------- Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!

Yours are a cool choice also. |
