Went to the garage today and ran the motor for about 30minuts checking for leaks, and any noticeable issues....all is good. After the 30min run, I gave it a second oil change. Just about road worth now. Items left are installing the water lines for the IC, the heat exchanger, I have to get new rotors and pads, and put the body panels back on.

HAHAHA, that turbo is so big, I needed to grind a 1/4" off the transmission case just to get it to fit. It only took about 2 minutes with an angle grinder, and is easily done with the motor in the car. I had my doubts, but after seeing were it actually hit, it is VERY easy to get too. In fact, I did the grinding with the motor sitting in the bay.

This is an amazing looking, quality turbo kit....a lot of props to EMS powered for designing such an incredibly turbo kit for the 3SGTE. I cant wait to strap it down to the dyno.

ABSOLUTELY, the ST205 W2A is VERY efficient and clean. Shannon will be upgrading to a higher flowing pump tho....and possibly a larger front mount heat exchanger.

Props to EMS, but having to grind the trans down qualifies as a slight fitment issue. smile.gif

Yes, you are very much correct....but it is VERY easily fixed with an angle grinder. And this is only an issue for the GEN3. GEN2 clears with no modifications needed.

It's a very small mod that has to be made in the big scheme of things. As Jim mentioned, there's no clearance issues on the gen2 at all. And on the gen3, the S200 series and T3/T4 series of our kit require a small amount of material to be taken off for the Gen3 guys. You can even do it by hand with sand paper. It's very little material that has to be clearanced

I will post up complete pics of install, turbo kit, and the mod required to the transmission case when I am all done with the final version of the kit. It really is a small trade off for such a HUGE upgrade that is not offered by anyone else to date. And it LITERALLY only took 2 mintues with a 10$ harbor fright 4" angle grinder.

I can't wait to give you guys a update the car is sitting outside and all together except while test driving it Jim lost the clutch and has since gone hunting so once that is fixed it will be mine to drive smile.gif

Also after Jim had gotten it started but it was misfiring and stuff and after days of brainstorming and me telling Jim a story he wasn't listen to he said I figured is out lol. Since I was telling a story about work and not my car I was confused but he said he forgot to hook up the boost cut thing up i forget the name and once he did that and we found an exhaust shop it was running smooth besides the clutch going out.

Now the last thing is Baktash(emspowered) had to ship the external wastegate setup because the internal wastegate flapper is getting stuck. That should be here next week and then I will have my break in period and then the cars good to go and I can head to the dyno smile.gif

Little news on the 5STE engine:

I don't have pictures and I have yet to see myself but Jim and Joey pulled the Head off to check things out and they said huge chunks are missing from my piston..I think they said more then one piston. The ringlands are intact and everything else too I believe so far except the missing piston pieces. I'm not sure what caused it but I'm think detonation and its also probably why my spark plugs kept getting closed shut but I'm not sure. I have not been to the shop in awhle sice i havent had time but whne I got I am def. getting pics for everyone!

Wow, Shannon I can't wait too see pics of that 5s!!!
Looking forward to dynos with the external gate setup, your kit is the same one texas ace is running, right? You guys will have even better results with the better intercooling ect.
Do you know if you guys lost pedal pressure with the cluch, or will it just not go into gear or something?

Yea I think its the same setup as texas ace. If I remember correctly Jim said he was driving for a few miles and he couldnt get it in any gear. He said he stalled then put the car in first gear and babied it home. He didnt lose complete pedel pressure I dont think but I believe a little(i'm not sure) he said its not sitting on the floor. He also said it happen once before after he first was testing the car and he bleed the clutch again and the problem went away. I'm not sure if he's got to bleed it more or he said he might have to change the slave cylinder. Manny I can't wait to see the 5s either its locked in the garage and Jim has the key so I'm pretty excited to see it bc Joey said its really crazy to see.

I used a 57 trim I am not sure of the exact one but it was just a knock off 57 trim. Now I am using the emspowered turbo kit the s252

We took the car out for awhile today it all seems good just don't have the intercooler installed until we install the external wastegate.

So no boost frown.gif

i'm confused, i thought forever that the TMIC of the 3rd gen was inefficient, since all of the heat sort of got absorbed by it?

Is it true that the 3rd gen uses W2A intercooling (from the factory-through means of a TMIC) rather than a A2A FMIC?

Slightly off topic, but on tweaks convertible, did he do a W2A intercooler and just offset the intercooler so that it wouldn't be directly on top of the manifold/valve cover and get all hot?

Seems like the trend forever with 3rd gen swaps was to convert to a FMIC, is it going in the opposite direction now? B/c of less piping with TMIC, is it equally efficient? or is it just a pro and con to each?

sorry for the noob questions, I am confused between all the threads...
