^ Yes you do. The USDM hood latch is NOT long enough, and you risk having the hood fly up. You need the hood latch from a GT-4.

order Gt4 latch or have it custom made.. still breaks my heart to see my hood damaged. to the people that have had their hood cranked.. how much does it cost to fix the hinges and fender? and would it be better to buy a new hood or just repair the damaged 1? -------------------- THIS IS WHERE WE HOLD THEM!

^^whats the truth? yes or no? other people say no, others say yes. yes if you are putting a gt-4 bumper as well i just want the gt4 hood alone, so then..i wouldnt need the latch? yes. the gt4 hood sits higher and the factory latch is not long enough to work properly. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Just get the latch to have a piece of mind. Why risk not getting the right latch, or extending it. Common sense.

you had a taste of the curse as well? I believe it happened September. I was getting gas at a station and I popped the hood because I thought I was going to add some coolant in my car.. I never did. I drove off and hit the beltway with my hood open.. I just happened to be in the fast lane and going 65 mph.. then bam that thing just jumped and destroyed my windshield. Had to pull to the side of the road looking through a small space on the windshield still going like 60 mph.. I couldn't really see anything.. I thank God I didn't get into an accident.. so I pulled on the left side with cars flying at 80+ mph in a skinny little shoulder scared for my life. -------------------- THIS IS WHERE WE HOLD THEM!
