Is this possible or am i in way over my head. Im guessing ill need to find a company to make a clear lens mold of the foglight ones. From then i do wish to install HIDS in the foglights, but it could become problematic as do they even make projectors that small to fit a small area as the foglights? As i really dont wish to just have clear lens with hids as it will most probably shine on oncoming traffic. Plus projector retrofit will look way better, then again it might fit in the enclosure as ive seen aftermarket projector foglights for sale and they are quite small.
I guess this is a brainstorming thread, as ive had this idea this past week as the foglights arnt fitting in with my headlights and turn signals. Ps. I do recall TRDGT4 (the guy from NZ) have clear lens for the his gt4 foglights and they looked real good. I guess ill do some research and PM him about it. Only if my internet was not capped it wouldnt be as painful to go on the internet. -------------------- |

I can mold just about any plastic, and I will probably sell taillight cover on the internet, but making clear replicas it easy too, but right now I dont have the tools to make them, I will be getting the tools by next 2 months, after that Ill begin my taillight re-fabrication and make them with a new shape and with LEDs, also I will remake my headlamps and retrofit projectors, demon eyes, and LEDs and also I might re shape them and make the low and hi beams just 1 headlamp instead of 2 on each side.
oh and dude I definetly dont recomend HIDs on Celica foglights, since they are 95% plastic they could probably melt! -------------------- waiting for LEDs for next project WOW recieved the LEDs, just tested a set up on a breadboard and I can barely see anything lol. Well sinister, i never actually thought that HIDs wouldnt melt the plastic as there are many 6gc owners running hids in their foglights already with no issues.

Yes! I would love some of those headlight covers that flow with the bumper like the Jdm ones that they don't make anymore. Also could you look into a smooth semi transparet red taillight replacement? Like the Jdm tails but all red? That way you could order just the lenses and unglue the stock usdm ones and glue on the new ones??? Plz

Like the Jdm tails but all red? That way you could order just the lenses and unglue the stock usdm ones and glue on the new ones??? Plz that is so simple, I was planning on making LED tails, and remake the hosing and put an All red cover and take the old one out, and have 2 different LED setups with different shapes, so that the car could look different at night and maybe save me from a**cough** ticket **cough**, I made several sketches of different setups, but when I moved to this house I lost the sheet snif , I guess Ill have to start sketching all that again:) with new setups, maybe if I get enough people interrested on the covers Ill invest in the equipment to make the custom plastic(plexi[cheap, but brakeable]/polycarbonate[unbreakable, expensive]) covers, but I would prolly sell them for around 120$ the set, but I need to check for suppliers before making any quotes, poly can get expensive, I will make a post of this after I check with suppliers, that way I could make affordable covers for you guys and no paying 400$ a piece like I saw on the internet for the 3-4 round holes cover, which was shocking, but if I get into that business, I could make conversion kits that could replace the whole tail light with smaller ones about 1/2 way and make some chedez immitations lol or BMW imitations that would fit celicas and stuff like that shoould be fun, I think im getting off topic so ill stop and when I post a new topic ill talk about that, but I could help pople like my friend here that posted this toppic and also make stuff for headlights and probably extrude them to the point until is alligned with the bumper and maybe add my high quality LEDs along the bottom edge or something for autoshows or turn signals around the headlamps and stuff like that. idk just a thought, I can do all those plastics not 100% like OEM ones, but they would deffinetly fit where the old covers were, and add a really good custom look to them, I have to go to sleep I have to go to work early, bye I''m way past my calculated time, bye -------------------- waiting for LEDs for next project WOW recieved the LEDs, just tested a set up on a breadboard and I can barely see anything lol. one member used the oem fog covers and placed projector fogs onto them, kinda like how many of the new cars have them, a plastic surround housing fitted with fog lamps. that would be an awesome idea. like the civics are a good example. or you could just find a way to mount the 7gc fogs. They are just round lamps that don't follow the lines of the opening anyways. But yea our fogs are not clear on all 3 types all have lines.
but honestly, HIDs in projectors and oem fogs are not bright at all, you should see my friends dc2 integra clear lens fogs, now that makes me crazy. Our lens is not clear on the fogs so the lamp won't be bright, even our projectors contain the light beam. I guess you are getting the idea that non projector headlights are out of control and blind people but that does not apply to our fogs, they are low and not clear. Man, if you have skills like this, I am placing my order now... New tail and headlight design and I'll even invest if you can pull this sh..........it off.... My celica needs a make over to look like no other on the road today and lights would be a great starting point.... This post has been edited by keison2000: Dec 6, 2009 - 10:31 PM |
