I got my black ones on I'm speechless they look sweet! You was right about the thickness and the durability. Too bad they don't have the silver support plate for the fronts. The C-one version mudflaps come with the metal supports for the front and back. Your red ones look SUPER SICK! Matches your car 150%. I love it!

Sounds like they made both of ours about the same time then . Can't wait to see them on your car. They really do make the car look 10 times better, I tell ya. -------------------- |

Well, I have two bits of phenomenal news.
I decided to finally get a new battery last night, because I kept having problems with the current battery. It seemed too small as it shifted around heavily in the battery bay and constantly made my terminals loose. I had my car alarm going off at random times, and all sorts or weird issues. I pulled into the garage where they were to install my battery, and the mechanics had a big ol' grins as I pulled up.. which I kinda expected. They asked me some questions about the car (they thought it was owned by Toyota or Castrol.. they couldn't understand why I'd do this for free lol) and I realized that the car looked unusually good. I've grown accustomed that with uber bright lighting like this, the flaws on my decals are about as obvious if the car was upside down. This happens in garages, gas stations... and in normal light if you're really up close. I never claimed to be a professional with the decals, like I've said, and I've been living with my mistakes since they've been applied. However, the car looked unusually smooth. Like, it seriously looked like a shiny, gleaming sports car in a indoor car show or something, and I couldn't understand why. I went over to the big Castrol roof decal, which was full of bubbles (we didn't do a good job on it) and realized it was not only good looking... it was beautiful! Yes, it seems the awkward weather in Ohio, from 60 degrees, to snow, to 60, to snow again, to freezing rain, to 60 have made the decals stretch back and forth so many times in the last few days that ALL of my bubbles on my decals are 100% gone!!!!! Seriously, it looks like my decals have been professionally laid down now . You have no idea the excitement I have. Not only that, but my car is running 200x better. Why? It appears the battery was too small in my car, and was causing all the issues I had. With the new battery, not only is start up smoother, but when the car is in idle, it doesn't sound like it's stuttering. Not only that, but it seems exponentially easier to accelerate in high speeds. My friend at work said that if the car isn't drawing enough power it can create all sorts of problems, and he was right! A tell tale sign that something was going wrong was when I'd disconnect my radio faceplate and my headlamps would get brighter. So there you have it. The car looks like freakin museum quality now thanks to Ohio weather, and my car is fully powered and healthy. I can't tell you how great it all feels! However, like I said above, I'd LOVE a roll cage installed. I can't do that though (hey, I'll admit my limitations lol), and I wouldn't know even where to start to hire someone to make it and install it. As for mud, well I can't help you there, but I can offer rain and snow! I've had a lot of it recently, and it's been quite fun to drive in both haha. -------------------- |

Your probably better off without a roll cage in a road car as they can increase head injuries if your not wearing a crash helmet. However you could make a plastic one "for looks"

Thanks for reading through the thread, and I'm glad you have enjoyed it! It's been a pain, but I can't tell you how great it feels to have the end result. Thanks for the compliments, and I hope you keep following the thread. I'm not done.. I'll never be done! haha ha ha glad to hear that your car is running better now and the decals somehow shrinked to size, btw when you coming back down to nky? Well, when ever we decide on another get together/have more stuff to do to our cars. Atm, there's not really too much I can do to my car other than the headers, and I'll be doing that with a friend later on in Dayton. I'm pretty booked for this month, but maybe we can schedule something in new year . This post has been edited by CastrolCelica: Dec 13, 2009 - 12:06 AM -------------------- |

When I heard you hit your hand on the E brake, and tested where my hand would be in the 1st and 2nd gear, and I decided against it. I got your text btw. I didn't know there was a meet in May. I'll have to check that out and where it is. Congrats on the new job! -------------------- |

Not that anyone probably cares, but I've gotten some minor things done.
First off, I FINALLY fixed the battery issue completely. I found the original terminals to go on the car, so it should be fine now. My positive would look like a coral reef after 2 days of driving. When I replaced them again, they didn't corrode, but instead they melted......yea... melted. ANYwho, besides that, I got my fog light covers installed, so no more being able to see into an empty bumper. I have to replace one piece of my decals. Honestly, I should just leave it.. it's just a minor chip, but I have a minor chip on my passenger side black box that surrounds the "4". It's from washing the car. It hit the only freakin small crease I had in all my decals haha. Oh well. I need to find someone to be able to make me an inch wide black strip to replace the bottom line. So yea, other than that, the mudflaps are doing wonderfully! I'm really enjoying them. And the car is handling like a dream in the snow. It's very well balanced and I'm loving every bit of it. Coming from a Prius owner, trust me.. the Celica is NOT bad. Anywho, happy new years guys. I'll be back on here like usual, so sorry if you guys thought I left or something . -------------------- |
