I have this bad habit of oversimplification of everything. That said. this whole discussion means nothing to me. I'm concerned about two things. 1 after cooler air intake temperature, and 2, the presence of engine knock or lack thereof.
Until someone can show me log files of the aftercooler temperature from an air to air setup and a water to air setup as well as logged counts of knock with both setups under similar ambient temp/load environments, I'm just not going to decide which one is better.

Both setups work. You might get some statistics that show things one way or another, but the truth is that both setups work and have been used in millions of cars all over the world. Its just a matter of flipping a coin and deciding what setup you personally like more.

be aware if u chose to use the stock wrc top mount a2w intercooler and your powergoals are WAYYY up there the heat exchanger and pump will need to be upgraded in order to match that of a FMIC a2a. in the range of 400+whp unless im mistaken.
