Has anyone thought of it?

I found the company that makes them for the '05-'09 Ford Mustangs. Somewhat expensive. http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/shop/...etail&p=154

I know that the bulb size are different so that part would have to be cut and spliced/ soldered together. But at the other end the wires would have to be cut, matched up, and spliced/ soldered together. (Might need Mustang electrical Diagram to match wires to Celica.)

Bulb sizes (might have missed some)
Mustang bulb sizes...
Rear turn signal-4057
Tail light-4057
Stop light-4057
Back up light-921
Celica bulb sizes...
Parking light-1157
Rear turn signal-1156
Tail light-1157
Stop light-1157
Back up light-1156

Here is an install from November issue of PowerBlockTV Magazine page 41-43
http://www.powerblockmagazine.com/issue/in...c028&page=1

If anyone does this or they get bored and draw up a diagram post it up here, I'm shure others will want to see too. Thanks!

I don't think it would work with a Celica, since we only have the 2 lights instead of 3. It would look like the light on the outside was flashing on and off, instead of running through a sequence.

^^ I think that it'd be alright if the turns were wired into the sequence. That would give you 3 lights to blink smile.gif

It just to expensive to cut some wires and see if it works. If the price goes down then I might try it.

Edit: Ebay has them cheap, just not cheap enough.

you are actually wrong, arent you forgetting the small red light thats on the side of the amber one... + the two brake lights makes 3and if you want more just use the turn signal and divide it in to two with a piece of plastic and jb weld, drill a hole and there you go, dont be so negative, think creatively wink.gif, thats the point of having unique Celis smile.gif, hope I helped you biggrin.gif

In North America, daytime running lamps may produce up to 7,000 candelas, and can be implemented as high-beam headlamps running at less-than-rated voltage.[5] This has provoked a large number of complaints about glare.

WOW that means that by me having 20,000 Candelas LEDs DRLs I should had got tickets like crazy, but since they are pointing down, I gress thats what has saved me, but when I get the green turn signals that are 13,000 Candelas I might get quite a few tickets per day, for the reasons of glare and color :\, aww who gives a @#$% Ill do it anyway. and dude the article says that you have no problem with those tail lights as long as the are of legal color and do not flash like emergency vehicles smile.gif( some of the conclusions I've made conserning your questions were based on another article I read long time ago [months])

That does help. But paying $150 bucks for the taillight kit and cutting it up to see if it works doesn't justify that expense... right now aleast.

I think the sequential tails idea would look awesome with the Afterburner tails http://www.quadconversions.com/toyota_Celi...rear_lights.htm Someone make it work and I'll pay you to tell me how to do it tongue.gif

you could probably find a cheap module from a set of christmas lights that do this. Then wire them up to normal bulbs, I'm talking based on thought really don't know if it would work or not just and idea to save money.

I almost thought about getting solar powered Christmas lights from Menards and putting them on my car. biggrin.gif

I beg to differ. I am NOT wrong, and here's why.

1.) JDM tails. No light over there.

2.) That light doesn't flash in USDM tails. It's a type 194 bulb. So... if you want to go through all the time and effort to wire in a relay to get that bad boy to flash, go for it. You'll have a light on the side of the car that nobody can see flashing, and it's no brighter than a Christmas light, so it's not doing you much good anyway.

I don't mean to be so down on this idea, but it's just not meant to be for a Celica.

Hey richee3, what about my idea with the Afterburners? They have three separate lights, so I think it would work quite well. I'm actually really excited about this idea and would love to pay someone to figure out how to do it to the Afterburners. I'd try myself but me and wiring just don't get along...

I'm unfamiliar with the afterburners. I know what they look like, but I've never seen pictures of any of them lit up. If all three lights are the same color, I suppose it wouldn't be too bad. It would just look like a tacky Mustang imitation if you had 2 red lights then an amber light. If you had 3 red lights, it wouldn't look too bad. Plus since you will already be working with 3 lights that flash, you wouldn't have to install the extra relay for the crappy little sidemarker light in the USDM tails. Wiring sequential taillights for afterburners would be no harder than getting your hands on a wiring diagram for one of the relays for a Mustang and applying it to a Celica. If you want to do it, go for it. Personally, I think afterburners are the only Celica taillights that this could work with, and they aren't the most popular lights on 6gc.
