I found some oz 18" ultraleggeras for a decent price and was wondering if they will fit. The guy says they will fit an audi a4 and a VW jetta. I looked the rims up on tire rack but the options for the celica are only the 17". Also I searched members rides and they seem to have 17' and below. Then I looked them up for the jetta on tire rack, and the wheel specifications are as followed....
Offset 35mm Backspacing 5.87 Bolt Pattern 5-100 225/40-18 Also I was looking up all the mods to do for a celica and should I do the wheels first, gt4 hood and bumper conversion, or anyone else have any ideas. I dont think i will be doing any performance mods since it will be my daily driver. Thanks. Posting my first pics of my celica today! -------------------- Weekend Warrior-----1998 Celica GT: White Daily Driver----------1997 Celica GT: Blurple |

My mate has them on his GT4 and they clear his BBC so they should fit your GT no problem.

They'll fit. Tires may rub a little Thats what i was afraid i would run into. Will that happen with every 18". My suspension is stock. To be honest im just searching on craigslist for cheap wheels and wondering what to look for or be cautious of. Im gonna eventually get some. And do i only need the wheels so i can just use my lugz and switch em out. Swiss ferdie the scion tc wheels were my best bet for that. But i am lookin at other options to. Like more aftermarket ones. Some of the wheels im lookin at are not on tire rack. Ive looked at the tire size sticky, i found it somewhere on this forum cant remember, and really didnt understand it. Is all i need to look for is 5x100. Im trying to do this right the first time. Also i will want to lower it to make it look right. Im probablly going to use the kyb struts and some type of lowering spring such as TRD, Eibach, Or some other. Does it matter which one to use. And are any other parts required? Ive looked through members rides and they have a whole bunch of setups. Also for the lowering my car is all i will need to do it right is just the kyb struts and some type of lowering spring, or will i need anything else to do that right so it will last long, and not have any future problems down the road? Or is it worth it to go to coilovers even though they are way more expensive. This is also my daily driver. Ive been reading on here and most people seem to want coilovers. Are the struts and springs just as good but cheaper. Ive looked at the parts database and there are all kinds of options. But i dont know what is the best way i should go about this. Hopefully you guys can help me with this or send me to a guide on this topic that will happen to explain this all at once in a simple manner and look at different options for suspension and different setups there is to do and everything I would need to do this right. Stock suspension you should be ok. And no it's the combination of a 225/40 tire and 18s. I'm not certain it'll rub, but it's something to look out for.
Keep in mind that going to 18s on stock suspension your cars going to look a lil goofy, but those wheels are nice. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Jan 7, 2010 - 1:39 PM -------------------- |

Also since you mentioned it would look goofy, I now have come to the conclusion that I will do suspension when i buy the wheels. I added suspension questions above so in the end it will look right. All help is appreciated.

KYB is OEM replacement - so don't expect any performance changes. Buying TRD is a waste, they're just rebadged Eibachs I think.

So all i will need is lowering springs then and i will not run into problems? No, the stock struts will blow with lowering. I believe the KYB GR-2's are identical to stock as far as the assembly goes, but the fluid inside is different. You WILL need replacement struts in the rear, and at least the shock insert cartridges for the front. My total was $430. I went to visit the guy today for the wheels and he said they were 5x100 but they didnt fit he then figured out they were 5x112 good thing i tried em on. So im going to get either the Scion Tc wheels or the MB fiveX wheels both cheap and 17". Also am I going to need the alinement kit for the sportline springs? Should I get the wheels first save money then lower or........ Lower save up more money then wheels? What would you recomend because I dont really want the car to look goofy? Also is Meineke car center a good place to get all this installed since i do not no what im doing. Sorry for all the questions just trying to do things right. .............Also pipes those trd wheels look sick i dont think you would need new wheels, if you paint the front to match the back your set man just my opinion.
