I am in the middle of deciding what to do. I am going from a 2nd gen 3sgte already swapped an running to a 3rd gen 3sgte. just not sure which one I want.
I really want a lsd tranny so the mr2 3rd gen 3sgte might be my best choice. If I got the st205 3sgte I was thing just sell the air to water intercooler setup and awd tranny an put that money toward a lsd tranny. 1 draw back of getting a mr2 3sgte the alternator is on the back. I have the old bracket on my 2nd gen. What would I do put the bracket on and switch the mr2 alternator pulley on because I think the mr2 belts are smaller. And whitch belt would I use the old one or the new engines?

I am using my old 2nd gen harness and getting a jumper harness made to the sensors needed that the 2nd gen dont have. I am just happy to get rid of the afm and have more engine bay space. Whats a good compression reading on a 3rd gen. I am trying to pick a good engine from a honest importer.

What would you guys choose the gt4's 3rd gen or mr2's? Would be nice to find a wrc 3rd gen.

Will be starting the disassemble tommorow an taking pictures.

im confused, maybe i mis read but why do you want to put an MR2 engine in, instead of an ST205? everything is in the right place on a 205.

Thats the question I need to know. Mr2 comes with the tranny I want but its gonna be harder to do cause of everything out of place. But the st205 will go right in but no tranny.

Answer I hope get a st205 sell the top mount water to air inter cooler setup and awd tranny that money put that toward a lsd tranny.
Does a mr2 lsd tranny go right in with alltrac outer and mr2 inners? What about the shift cables and location on the mr2 tranny?? Its oppisite on my setup now

did you consider converting the 205 tranny to FWD? its super easy to do. all you need is the LSD from an MR2 and the cover plate.

You are better off selling your complete GEN2 swap.

I can set you up with a GEN3 ST205 without the W2A IC and without the AWD trans in place of an E153 LSD transmission. PM me for pricing.

I sell the LSD transmission cheaper then that with free shipping. My transmissions also include the required LSD inner axles needed for the conversion.

everything looks tidy to be fair on that block mate.

nice st205 block, not a wrc though but tbh that means toss all, we welded up the anti lag ports on the exhaust manifold when doing my brothers forged conversion as theres no need for them, bar that the block is identical to the normal st205 block, i know many people claimed the wrc block was thick walled but thats utter tosh aswell as its luck of the draw again in the 3s as to block thickness.

nice clean block. smile.gif

Oh I have big plans for it. Big turbo and ems by the end of the summer already have alot of other parts like exhaust down pipe ect ect. I am gong to dyno as soon as I get this one in. Will run 20lbs max with my old engines meth/water injection kit.
