Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for.
Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? |

Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for. Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? I've had my 91 MR2 since Fall, but I have had 6th gen Celicas since 2005. What made me buy them is their unmatched styling, outstanding reliability, and overall value. I have had all ST's - a 95, a 94, and a 96. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? I use it to daily drive. Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? punch bug or dub is the dumbest thing ever. Pretty sure everyone knows its "slugbug". For the 6th gen Celica there aren't any real myths, jokes, conspiracies, etc. For my MR2 the big myth is snap oversteer will come at you from nowhere and make you crash - when it is really just a driver unexperienced with a MR platform. Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Toyota isn't a competitive car company anymore in terms of performance vehicles, so I doubt there is much rivalry going on there. Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)?Us MR2 guys give each other recognition with a wave or "the deuce". If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)?VW owners are generally d-bags, but whatevs. Toyota is one of the most common cars to see on the road. You can't bundle us all in to two stereostypes, because whether or not you drive a Supra, or a Sienna - we're all different people brought together by our love of reliable automobiles. Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? Is this a question? Toyota promises reliability and delivers reliability. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? meh. Their doing their part for the environment. Kudos to them. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? That's because Toyotas are awesome. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? I think its being blown way out of proportion by our government to scare people into buying a GM, or any other US brand car. The government bailed them out, and is going to make sure they're around long enough to pay it back. What is the best way to do it? Sensationalize a couple vehicles out of the MILLIONS of Toyotas on the road today and fine the crap out of Toyota to coerce people into a GM. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American?See above Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? We're pretty much the coolest people out there. Cooler than the boyracer Subaru guys, and WAY cooler than the VW d-bags. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for.
Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? 1 year and 1 month as of the 24th of April. I bought it because I've always had a special place for the Celica GT and when I decided to buy a new car it was the first thing I looked for. 1999 Toyota Celica GT. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? I like the design aesthetics and the rarity of it; I don't see many Celicas and even fewer GTs in my area so it stands out. I use it for daily driving and all that entails - hauling groceries, commuting to work, and weekend excursions. Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? Well, the myth that they're more reliable or last longer than other cars is the biggest one - but it also seems true from my experience.Beyond that there's the inevitable jokes about Toyotas being boring, cookie-cutter machines without passion. Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Anything with a 4-cylinder under the hood is a rival to most Toyotas. Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? Other than the random thumbs up or nod from other Toyota owners when I'm at a stoplight? Nope. If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? Boring, middle-aged people and young ricers, unfortunately. Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? If they're moving forward to bringing souls back to their products then they need more vehicles that show it, ie. the FT86 needs to be out NOW.As for reliability, having never owned a newer ('00 - present) Toyota I can't comment other than to say the build quality from the 90s needs to return. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? Eh, it's a great symbol and for some it's awesome - gets from A to B with less damage to the Earth. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? I guess it speaks for itself. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Personally, I think every auto maker has issues at times with quality but Toyota's catching so much flack because of their reputation for quality and impeccable standards. In the race to be number 1 they may have lost sight of their end-users as more than just numbers. In time their reputation will return to it's previous levels - if they take return to a quality not quantity business model. The runaway Prius story looks like a fraud and since I wasn't in the car I can't be totally sure but it just looks too opportune to be coincidence. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? See my above answer but I think it has been made more or less into a big catalyst to "buy American". Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? Toyota's future will rest heavily on the leadership of Akio Toyoda and I hope he delivers the kind of cars that Toyota faithful have been clamoring for since the mid to late 90s. This thread seems like a trolling attempt, but i'll happily bite.
Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? Little over a year now. Purchased it because they are dependable vehicles, not to mention its my favorite toyota. 1994 ST Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? Its my DD, and project car/learning experiance Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? I know the Honda ricer boys around here always give me hell when the pull up, but I enjoy watching them acquire tickets for stupidity. Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? Not that i've noticed, its mostly "Damn the car is nice","Wow she looks good for how old she is..." How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? Green freak morons that have fallen into the agenda of the polictical asshats. Simply put, if I offended you because you have a prius...good, your the dumbass for buying it. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Another gov't scam aimed to bail out the companies that put themselves in that position. Happy Toyota did good, but the basis behind the "Cash for clunkers" was exactly as stated above. A scam once agian for the political asshats. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Considering the gov't bailed out the american car companies, and I belive they own quite a bit of these companies now, its nothing but an attempt to take out the big dog. Being Toyota, which has always been known for dependability and much much more. Everyone fails to mention all the recalls on the crappy american cars that have been popping up non stop, they just take a jab at toyota cause its time for "change" as obama would say. Once agian its the cattle we call america following the leader Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? Refer to above statement Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? The majority are more real....except the prius drivers, if I enjoyed jailtime, and hated my car I'd ram each one of'em off the road til they caught me. |

Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model?
I bought my first Toyota, an '89 Celica, in 1998. I bought it because I wanted a 6th gen Celica, but they were new still, and could not afford one. Had it for 2 years; sold it to buy an '89 Pathfinder, just wanted a bigger car. Bought my second Toyota, a '92 4Runner, in 2003(?). I bought it because the Pathfinder was alright, but the 4Runner was WAY nicer and I got a killer deal on it. I sold it in 2008, only because the price of gas went up and my commute was long, and it just got too expensive to drive 200+ miles a week. I sold it with the express intention of buying my next car... (enter segway!) My '94 Celica, purchased July 2008. I bought it because it is the car I've ALWAYS wanted, and I was finally able to get one. All of the Toyotas I've bought, I bought for the same reason: reliability and style. The style and design of them appeals to me, and their reliability is paramount. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? I like my Celica because it looks great and suits my personality - rock solid, dependable and a little on the "racy" side without being too crazy. I use it as my daily driver, and commute 40+ miles a day in it. Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? There's lots of rumors floating around the internet about this whole Toyota recall thing being played up as part of a US gov't conspiracy to get US auto makers back on track. I'm not big into conspiracies, nor am I big into rumors, so personally, I couldn't care less one way or the other. It doesn't change my opinion about Toyota. As far as jokes or whatever about Toyota, the closest I can come to that is that an old boss of mine used to always say to me "You got it, Toyota" because he knew I was into Toyotas, and it's an old tag line from a Toyota ad campaign from the early 80s. Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Probably Honda is the closest to a rivalry, but that's more amongst the owners rather than from a corporate or manufacturing level I think. Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? I get "the nod" a lot when I see another 6th gen Celi driver on the road. I've gotten a few waves and once a peace sign out the window as they passed me in the HOV lane, but usually I just get "the nod" which of course I always return. If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? ![]() Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? The slogan "Moving Forward" is just alright in my opinion. It doesn't exactly denote any characteristics of excitement or thrill, it's just kind of milk-toasty I think. Not cutting edge. As far as promises of reliability, well, they've got some making up to do in the public eye I think. I doubt that any serious Toyota fans will be dissuaded by the recent recall fiascoes, but any potential for "new recruits" has probably been lost - and lost to the Ford Fusion for that matter. I've been inside one, and honestly, on the surface, I can see why. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? I see a TON of Prius' here in Portland. How do I feel about them? I wouldn't own one. For one thing, they're UGLY as sin and equally as slow. For another, with hybrid research and technology advancing every day, there's no reason to drive one. I'd rather wait and buy a "regular" car that happens to be a hybrid if I were to go that route. I'm all for hybrid technology - but for myself, not at the cost of taking the fun out of driving. As for the people who drive them? Again, I can only relate that to the Portland market, and in Portland, the vast majority of people who drive the Prius are sanctimonious, hypocritical, fake hippie, yuppie assholes who think they're doing the planet a huge favor by driving a Prius, eating only organic food and signing petitions when the reality is that it takes a LOT more than that to affect change on a global scale. They make me want to smoke cigarettes, eat fast food burgers, and litter. THAT's how I feel about them. And their dumb fcuking Save the Planet bumper stickers. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? People know a good thing when they see it! Interesting that the Corolla beat out the Prius - another example that just goes to show that people would rather drive cars that look like cars AND get great gas mileage than drive those ugly ass things. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? The recalls are scary and unfortunate for Toyota, especially in the economic climate we're in now, but I think it will quickly be overcome and forgotten. The run away Prius guy/lawsuit, etc... WHY CAN'T PEOPLE FIGURE OUT HOW TO PUT THEIR CAR IN NEUTRAL? Or better yet, slam the fcuker into reverse? SO WHAT IF IT'LL DROP THE TRANSMISSION. There's more than one way to stop a car, and it doesn't have to involve a brick wall or pedestrian. I'm a little dumbfounded by this whole thing, quite honestly. It's just another example of American society and it's deep denial of any accountability or personal responsibility. In this case, it's people panicking and losing their heads. I'm not at ALL implying that any acceleration problem is the fault of the driver. But I think there are some people coming out of the woodwork and being opportunistic here. Are Toyotas having the same problems in Europe and other markets? Seems like we only hear about USDM spec Toyotas having these problems. I could be wrong though. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? I think it got so much attention because Toyota is known for its reliability, so it's a big deal that Toyota put out all these vehicles that are unreliable. No, I don't think the massive media coverage in and of itself is a part of this alleged conspiracy. HOWEVER - and independent Senate investigation panel? THAT's more likely to be a part of any conspiracy. I think the massive media coverage is just the fallout. It's a pawn, and the government knows that the more they get involved, the more coverage there will be. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? Just that it seems very much that Toyota owners are still loyal to the brand, regardless of the recent debacle surrounding Toyota. Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for.
Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? Since the 15th of April, 2008. I saw it on the lot at the dealer and fell in love. Auto, steel wheels, didn't matter; I knew I needed to take that '97 Celica ST liftback home. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? Having a damned reliable DD, and it looks fantastic to boot. Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? The myth that Toyota is the only major car manufacturer with issues right now. Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? HONDA SUCKS!!111!!!one!!1!1!!!!!!!1 Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? A look or compliment, occasionally. If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? Helpful and entertaining folks. Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises of reliability? It's a bit lame, but it's fine. Slogans don't do much for me anyhow, it's the experience of the drive. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? Grass-eatin', gay-marriage-supportin', Chihuaha-havin', tofu-eatin' America-hatin' homosexicals driving fagmobiles. /redneck But really, to each their own, can't blame anyone for wanting great gas mileage and reliability. During the Cash for Clunkers program, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Prius were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Apparently the public is of the opinion that Toyota makes some good quality vehicles. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Several automobile companies have their gremlins to deal with right now; Toyota is just being put in the spotlight to hurt import sales in an attempt to push GM products on America. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? See above. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? As of right now, I would not buy a new Toyota automobile, because quite frankly there is just nothing exciting on offer from them. However, when the FT-86 rolls out, which could very well be the new Celica, I'll be at a dealership. ![]() This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Apr 6, 2010 - 2:09 PM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

about the toyota's recall... people in america needs to know the truth...
just to let you know, all the recalls where the cars with the non toyota accelerators. Toyota failed to reach customers demands so they decided to borrow parts from an american parts company that that makes parts for GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc. All the cars that got a stuck pedal and/or recalled were the ones with that american branded system installed. So toyota is apologizing for using faulty american parts and will most likely not use american parts for their cars again. All the cars in japan were with toyota brand (if not Aisin brand) and they have no problem what so ever. just to let you guys know what the news in america is not telling you guys, the truth. -------------------- PROJECT 6TH GEN

I defer about the government bailing out the companies on cash for clunkers. Imagine if the companies died and the government didn't bail them out. Thousands of people would lose there jobs and homes and we are talking a lot of people here. What if you were one of the guys who got laid off and been working there for 20 years. Unemployment benefits would only take you so far before bills kicked in.
My family has owned Toyota's for the past 25 years and they are perhaps the most reliable cars out there. Even through rust, age, and mileage they still prove to be far superior then a brand new GM or dodge. As far as the recall goes I think its just a publicity stunt to lower the sales in the US for Toyota's. I mean look at other countries they aren't having any problems with there Toyota's. Also, a lot of people screw up when driving so they need an escape goat and why not just blame the car for it when its really the drivers stupidity right? Not to mention that a lot of Toyota's are now assembled in the US which means that there are always workers who do a shotty job. We all know Americans tend to do things half-ass (I'm one of em). |

Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model?
I have a 96 Celica. Long story short, I had an '02 Sunfire that I crashed when run off the road by a drunk driver, didn't get his license plate/etc. anything to track him down with, and insurance totaled my car. I'm looking for a cheap replacement, come across a rusty '94 Celica, and have loved them ever since - got my '96 in about October '09, and here I am. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? It's my daily, but will be used at my track once I swap in a 3S. Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? None. Sorry. Unless turning heads counts ![]() Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Honda. The quest to become the most fuel efficient and reliable. Maybe Chevy too, since I see Chevy taking shots at Toyota all the time. Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? Like I said, watching people catch my car and stare at it. If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? I would have to say middle aged people. Probably concerned with reliability or fuel efficiency...your average american, probably. Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? "Moving forward" is pretty boring, but again, they're not aiming towards kids my age. The reliability isn't a promise, it's a truth. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? I can't stand Prius'! The special batteries they're powered by is a bigger harm to the earth than any CO2 emissions they're saving, new landfills will have to be able to create them, and it'll just be a mess. Not to mention it's an ugly looking thing too. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Toyota > Cobalts, which were probably #2 on that list. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? It's being over publicized. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? Everybody else's statements regarding this question pretty much summarizes what I was going to say. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? I've begun noticing it's more common to see a Toyota badge than a Chevy badge in my area...which is something, considering a few months ago I couldn't stand seeing Chevy badges. -------------------- ![]() |

Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model?
First 6th gen a '94 black st, had it for close to 8 years and had an accident in 2007, then got a '00 7th gen gt have had that close to 4 years, got another 6th gen a '95 ST last august, (had to have that 6th gen back) So happy owner of 6th and 7th gen won't part with either. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? Initially I liked it for it's looks, and then over the years didn't have a single problem with it and was stupid and didn't take care of it yet had no problems. Used it for daily driving, no racing. I like them for their looks and quality , reliability (better than any other car IMO) and sort of uniqueness (not as common as cars such as civics) Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? Ehhh no myths that I can think of... Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Well honda is always trying to one up us, i guess. But they know we are better Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? The one thing that I have heard a few times is "you toyota people" meaning that we are loyal to only toyotas and we think that toyota is better than any other car brand (which it is ) If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? No real stereo types seems like all walks of life have toyotas Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? I have no question they will fill this promise based off their history How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? I think that they are great for people that commute alot, I personally don't fancy them but if i had to commute and wanted to save some money on gas, I would get one. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Its all blown out of control, people are looking for a cut and a chance to make Toyota look bad, to build up their brands. i hate all those money grubbing lying crooks. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? Yes, I totally believe that to be true, all makes sense half of the American car makers needed a bail out because they suck so much. Great time to throw the ace under the bus. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? Only thing i want to add is they need to come up with another celica, I know that wont happen So i hope for that concept car to come out because you won't catch me in a crappy TC, (GENERIC). -------------------- The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of

Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for.
Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? My family have been using toyota's since the early 90's. First toyota I had was a 1985 toyota cressida. We bought it because it was a good price at the time. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? I have different toyota's i used them for everything. tow, race, commute. Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? Toyota's last forever. Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Mainly it is honda. then afterwards its every other car company. Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? No. If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? Everyone buy toyota. Since they got rid of there sport cars, there has been very little brand loyalty from the younger generations. Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? Not reliablity, they are protraying an image of working together with the consumer to make the world a better place. They only adopted this slogan when they came out with the prius. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? prius owners are rich dough bags who are cheap on gas. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Its hard to buy an other cars when you know toyota offers good resale value, good on gas, safe, and more importantly reliable. How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Its bull ****. Every car in the world can suffer from stuck throttle. Stuck throttle cables where a problem since the invention of the car. Its nothign new and the press is blowing it up beyond proportions. But i will not deny toyota does have a problem that they must fix. And that they did drop the ball. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? the press are ass holes and the public is dumb Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? Toyota is just a car company. They lost there soul trying to over take GM and become the number 1 car company in the world. |

Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for. Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? since 02/01/2005. styling & known reliability, price at the time. 1994 Celica GT Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? I love it because it is not seen very often, it always turns heads even in the dirtiest of conditions, always get compliments, and its just a 16 year old economy sports car. ![]() Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? No. Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Pretty sure they used to compete with Honda....... maybe they still do. There seems to be a wide range of owners for Toyotas, perhaps the only thing that brings them all together is that they own toyotas... lol. Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? Not sure what this is asking? I think the moving forward campaign is based on Toyota's effort to move towards the "green" side, with the prius, hybrid camry, etc. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? i dunno. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Not really? People knew what they wanted.... How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? It is more hype than it is a problem I would say.... Every company has their share of problems. The problem with this current set of recalls is that everyone loves to see the giant company fail, and all it takes is one screw up to lose the #1 standing. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? Perhaps to promote american cars, but I still think it is just to encourage the fall of Toyota's long term reign. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? Not really.... -------------------- ◊◊◊ My F/S Thread! ◊◊◊

Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? ive had mine for 2 years, i liked the body style 1997 toyota celica st
Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? driving, racing, its a looker!! everyone likes it Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? nope Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? yes but im not going to get in detail Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? good gas mileage? it will last 2ce as long as an american car If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? we have class, we know cars, Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? ??!?!?! How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? i think just like every other car their are problems. If you buy a used car you are also likely to have problems as well. also when you get your license you are giving a responsibility to be a good driver to know what to do in case of an emergency. if your car acceleration sticks you need to nkow what to do!! put it in neutral and turn off the engine, turn your hazard lights on and try to pull over! common sense im 20 yrs old and i know that During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? not really surprised they are a good reliable car and if you take good care of it your kid might be driving it in 20 years How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? i think that is pathetic, there are problems with everything, just like when you buy a used car or a new car there are recalls on every car, but i dont see anyone else sueing, they just want to make money because they feel that their life was threatened. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? because liike you said it will get people to buy american, we are not only in a competition with foreign cars, we are competing for everything. so the worse they look the more people will recognize america and think that this is the way to go, we are the top of the food chain, or in building cars. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? i still see people buying toyotas even with this recall, i still see people driving pruis's with no worries |

Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model?
1990 Toyota Celica GT, liftback. Purchased August 1998 -- based on reliability and price, I had to choose between a 95 Nissan Sentra XE, a 94 Honda Civic DX, or a 90-92 Celica. I picked the more unusual, curvy one. Glad I did so -- looking at the other options now, I'd not want to be driving them. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? Daily driver, and use working on it as a hobby Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? The true origin of the original Celica dragon logo (company chairman was a fan of dragonboat racing) Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? Honda, at the owner level. Relative rarity of sporty Toyota models versus the wide availability of Honda models. Current stereotype, courtesy of Toyota abandoning any attempts to keep exciting cars in its lineup, would be the beige sedan with equally uninspired owners Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? Required to persuade people who don't actually research the facts How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? Depends upon why the owner chose that model. If it was because the car, performance and economy were all to their liking, then great. If it was a fashion statement, then I feel about them the same as I do about the stereotypical BMW owner. During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Small fuel efficient cars, a no-brainer given the program's requirements -- especially when Chrysler had minimal small cars to offer, GM was being ridiculed for the size of its bailout, and Ford is still fighting to get its quality reputation up How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? A modicum of research demonstrates that most of the screaming is courtesy of hype and predatory behaviour; see Audi and the false dilemma over acceleration. That said, Toyota did not handle the issue as well as it could have -- but the damage is more to Toyota's corporate ethics than to its reliability record. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? It doesn't require a conspiracy for a lot of people to act the same way. Unfortunately, it's more a symptom of American media, which in order to maintain audiences has had to drop coverage which includes details, nuances, and shades of gray. Instead, to feed the demand, they have to offer black-and-white morality tales, with clear identification of the bad guys. And it's no fun reporting that one of the Detroit Three is on its umpteenth recall -- such as the 6.2 million GM trucks and vans recalled over brake line corrosion and failure. This would be the fourth-largest recall in North American auto history, as far as I can tell. Toyota's floor mat recall, to put that in perspective, is all of 3.8 million. Of course, the problem with the Toyotas could be fixed a tad more easily by the owner. This post has been edited by Galcobar: Apr 12, 2010 - 12:08 AM |

Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? '99 Celica GT, purchased in July 2001. Oddly i bought it because I liked the circle headlights and it sort of reminded me of a cheap sporty Benz. Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? Driving and an occasional Autocross Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? No Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? No Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? No If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? middle-aged commuter vehicles Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? I like to joke about this with the recent 'unintended acceleration' issue. Moving forward... Even when you don't want to. How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? yawn During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Gas was +$4/gal, and due to the constraints placed on the Cash for Clunkers program, people HAD to buy fuel efficient vehicles. And thats all that Toyota makes How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? You will always find people looking to make a quick buck on anything. Especially if those people are $750k in debt. Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? I think that the coverage was blown out of proportion, but I don't think that it was part of some conspiricy of any kind. I just wish that we would have put the banks through the same scrutiny as we did Toyota. Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? I hope you're not looking to get an unbiased viewpoint by coming to a toyota car site and asking for our opinions This post has been edited by jimmykay: Apr 12, 2010 - 2:21 PM -------------------- '99 Celica GT - Sold

Here are some interview questions, please answer 1 or 2 of them, or all if you want. Copy and paste the question you are responding to so I know which question the response is for. Have long have you had, or did you have, your Toyota, what made you buy it? What year, model? been a toyota owner since 92, Dad had a 84 Supra so it started from there Why do you like your Toyota, and what do you use it for (driving, racing, towing stuff)? depends on which car 2001 GT-S = race car 1990 All-Trac = race car 1997 GT = daily driver 1997 Supra = race and fun car Do you know any myths, superstitions or conspiracies involving Toyotas? What about jokes, inside or about Toyotas (like the punch bug or dub, depending on the year, for VW)? nothing comes to mind Is there any rivalry that you know of with other car companies? constant rivalry with Acura Integras or RSX Is there a special recognition factor you get from begin a Toyota owner (like the "Wrangler Wave" for jeep owners)? Definatly in the Supra If Toyota owners could fall into one or two "general" stereotypes what would it/they be (Like Subaru owners are known to be like outdoor hippies, and VW owners are generally awesome...)? not sure on this one, Typical supra owner i guess Their current Ad campaign "Moving forward", and their promises off reliability? I think toyota shot them selves in the foot. im hoping their reliability will keep them in the industry How do you feel about the Prius, and the people who drive them? The car is fine with me, most owners are morons that know nothing about their own car...see youtube video "how to drive a prius" During the Cash for Clunkers thing, the Corolla, the Camry, and the Pruis were all in the top 10 sellers, ranking at 1, 3, and 7. Any thoughts, or comments regarding this info? Toyota make good stuff!!! How do you feel about the current issues surrounding Toyota, such as the recalls, the guy with the "run away Prius guy" and the lawsuit, such as the recent $16 million one? Most drivers are freaking morons that dont pay attention or read their owners manual. i dont think toyota should take any fault for stupid drivers that dont know how to shift into neutral or push the start button for 2 seconds Why do you think the recall got so much media attention, and do you think the massive media coverage could have been part of a conspiracy trying to get people to buy American? because the media are a bunch of communits a$$holes that need something to jump on because they cant tell the truth on how the government is trying to take over the world by taking our freedoms one at a time and taxing the hell out of its people Are there any other noteworthy things that you've noticed about Toyota, or the people who drive them, or anything else you want to add? I still believe that toyota makes some of the best looking cars out there. im not talking about the scion johnny cabs, but the Lexus IS line and the new corollas are good looking. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
