did everything exactly how it is sadi on How-To: Changing the indicator lights
Required Tools: Pliers, Bastard-File, Soldering Iron, Solder Required Parts: 8x 3mm LEDs (in whatever color you like) buit for some reason the icons not the little clear plastic wont light up |

you didn't do it right... also this needs an update... there are TWO different boards and the polarities are switched on the other board... theres a white and a blue connector

Ive started a project not too diffenrent. I wasnt happy with the light i was getting from just 3 leds, so i've gone a bit tim the tool man on it and gone for more light, more power!!!

OK, maybe I missed it, but the 8 indicator leds, what voltage and amperage rating leds am I supposed to be using, I have a feeling that they won't all work properly.

Meh, I took it apart and went out to the car with the multimeter and circuit board, answer to my question was 3v 40ma

========================================== How-To: Getting the Unit Out Required Tools: Philips-head screw-driver. ideally you want a very short one as well as a regular sized one. needle-nose pliers can be helpful. Required Parts: None, this is just getting the unit out. So, here it is almost 6 years later and after scouring the net looking for ANYthing remotely close to explaining how to get that frikken unit out, (I only needed the panel off, but clearly it couldn't be done without the unit being removed), let alone find the correct name of the unit via diagrams, photos, countless parts catalogs and private sector sell/trade posts/ ads etc....I had an already partially dismantled vehicle, possibly two hairs left on my head after days of minimal sleep and I found this! Yeaaaaaaa! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I had to back track a bit, and reassemble some of it, to disassemble it correctly, but it was well worth it! I am off to catch some long overdue ZZZZzzzzzssss.....THANK YOU again! |
