GT4 front caliper alternatives? Options

are there any alternatives to the factory GT4 calipers that aren't $1,300+?

Its one of the few hardware pieces i'm missing for my project.

I doubt my stock GT calipers are strong enough to handle & judging by the size difference in hubs, even big enough to consider using.

any help is appreciated

ive seen a 4th gen all trac with tacoma 4 pot brakes nit the same gen but im sure dat it could be done celicatech somewhere, you have the lexus ls400 four pot also there are more on here somewhere look around

Why cost $1300+? Order brand new from Toyota or what?
PM me if you want, I got a set laying around, could trim down the 315mm rotor to 300mm

No longer in need for them since I switched to st205 calipers

The've done 190000km. There is a rebuilt kit available: toyota part number 04479-20210
In the Netherlands, the rebuilt kit is approx €50,- ($64)
They were factory fitted on my car, but due to an 3S-GTE engine swap, I replaced them for ST205 calipers.
If you're interested, feel free to make me an offer.
Shipping costs are a killer though.....€ 104,10, which is about $134,02 at todays exchange rate

Can supply pictures if you want, but have to take them first

How about the brake pads, are they the same size as the ST204/ST202 Single piston caliper that came on McPherson strut suspension??

You'd be surprised how good the GT brakes work on even a decently high HP swapped car. I have great braking response and I'm running 18-20PSI on a 3S-GTE
It's been proven the stock GT brakes are as good as ST-185 dual pots
IMO ST-205 or leave it stock [Unless of course you want to pay waaaay too much for the Brembo namebrand instead of Celica stamped Brembo brakes LOL ]

I forgot about tundra, there are 2 different calipers as well, both can work.


the LS430, depending on the year they need different work in order to fit. but also doable

actually, instead of asking about calipers, people should research brake disc, that's the hard part, is easy to bolt the caliper to your knuckle, but finding a disc that will suit the caliper / knuckle is the tough part.

so far I know Cadillac Catera disc with 5 x 100 drilled on them can work with ST205 disc.

are there any others that you guys know of ?

Found a bunch of places in the UK for rotors, but shipping them into the US might make it hard. Found a couple of other leads in Japan, potentially cheaper since it's much closer.

No, the're a little bit bigger than single piston calipers from the McPherson strut

what are the aftermarket brake pad options as far as the dual piston superstrut brake calipers???

I see that TRD has them for $155 for the front pair and $155 for the Rear pair plus shipping, its not really good to mix and match brake pads right, by this I mean having trd brake pads in front and hawk hps street pads in the rear!

Well the ls430s I have are monobloc 4 piston calipers in the front and 2 piston in the rear. You will need a brake adapter that can easily be made using aluminum blocks. The thing you guys fail to consider is the brake bias. Now if you guys are all about having massive calipers then more power to you, the point of upgrading your brakes is to gain stopping performance.

We need a the ST and GTs stock caliper piston diameter then we can go from there on brake bias.
