I need to know what a good idea for an exhaust set up is i know i need to have it customly done but what resonator muffler and type of piping should i get i was a deep sound like a subaru and no ricey rasps

There are barely any aftermarket exhausts setup's for the 6gc and when you do find them there from over seas and cost a pretty penny. If your going custom, do a under axle 2.25 with a magnaflow muffler, and high flow cat. sounds great.

Subarus have their sound because they have a flat 4 with unequal length exhaust manifolds. Your Celica will never sound like one unless you find a way to shoehorn an EJ257 into it.

yeah but if i do not want a civic sound and more of a deep sound what products should i get new cat new resonator ? and what muffler do you prefer like a megan or like a apexi or obx b10?

Go for a 2.5" piping, I'd say.
I did mine myself with a friends help in welding. Used 2 boxes - centre and rear. and the sound is nice and deep. Centre is a universal 2.5" straight through box and rear is a JDM style can with a 4" outlet. Going under the rear axle near the pivot point. Centre and rear box are stainless, but piping is mildsleel from local motorfactors - 3M for £18. Exhaust flanges and gaskets from ebay.

I would recommend just going to a shop and asking how much a full cat back system would be, or go all out and buy an eBay head and get a full exhaust system..

you do not need anything larger than 2.25 pipe for a n/a celica, anything more is just a waste

Id have to disagree with you on this one Hector, (not trying to start a dispute or anything) It really depends on the quality the welder does on your ehuast set up. I had a custom exhaust set up done on my 350z. we took my car and my friends car to compare the performance increase on a dyno and i actually ended getting the same performance increase than my friend who paid 1800 on a greddy exhaust compared to my custom 3' full exhaust. I turned out paying 400.00 for mine. Alot of the times we are just paying for the name of the product. Im not trying to diss out any products out there. If i had the money to buy them i would, but when your in a situation that you cant afford these products, you gotta go for whatever is in your budget. Also my custom exhuast ended up sounding ALOT better then my friends GREDDY. biggrin.gif

OP: if you decide to go with custom exhaust make sure welder does not leave any air leaks for that is a huge thing when it comes to welding exhausts. Make sure he double checks....nevermind....make him triple check that no air leaks are present on all welding spots.

go with a full 2.25' cat-back without resonator and just have a basic tip welded at the end for best sounds or you can go with the 2.25' axle back.

DO NOT install a can unless your purchasing a full exhaust setup.....

Im gonna be going to the same shop to get my wifes Celica new setup next month.

I have a Fujitsubo Giken tailpiece,2.5' piping with two resonators(the second one to improve on fuel consumption and gain on low-end torque) but with just the 2.5' pipes fitted,the car had a loud grunt to it.it got even better with the tailpiece.i'd say the 2.5' piping is best suited for n/a motors.any higher is good for forced induction motors.

I would go with 2.25" piping with a high flow cat, resonator and muffler. If you have the funds, get a header and custom downpipe as well. Remember, you will have to deal with the sound of your exhaust system so don't go cheap.
I have an ebay header, custom 2.25" down pipe, high flow cat and a Greddy SP2. I wish i could record the sound but i don't have anything to record it with that'll do it justice. Good Luck though!

yeah i dont feel like spending more than 400 so maybe 2.25'' piping and a cat no resonator and a muffler
