Nice! You doin the whole front end or just hood?

I've already got the front bumper, fogs, clear highs, projector lows and Euro front lip from a previous celica I had, so this is just the final piece. Whole front should be on there as soon as I get a chance to sand, paint and install. biggrin.gif

Manny (presure 2) is going to help me extend mine since I don't currently have access to a welder. I'm swinging by to see his beast and extend the latch this week. biggrin.gif;)

had the day off and went home to work on the car some

Progress:
-Painted GT4 Bumper Red (3L2)
-Installed JDM Clear High Beams
-Installled GT4 Front Bumper w/ fogs

I ran out of clear coat, but had to put it on the car anyway since I needed to drive it back to school. So I'll spray a few more coats of clear on it when I take it off to put the projectors in there. I am still converting them to LHD and didn't have them done in time. I would have waited for the whole front end swap, but I need the crash bar so I can put the coupe back together.

pics:

What it was...

Primer and some light body work

Now the red

car apart

and the front on there

and this came in while i was outside working..

Wow. That was quick delivery from Malaysia!

Nice job on the paint!

Did you happen to find a GT4 crossmember for the front bumper or did you just cut the old one so the GT4 bumper would fit?? 

Yea it came fast smile.gif

here is the answer to your question woot.gif

The driver side frame rail part of the GT4 front support is a bit mangled. I need to mess with it a bit since I had trouble getting the bumper to fit right at the driver side fog. you can see its off a tiny bit.

Also, the paint matched reallly well. I just need more clear coat on there and I think it will look great. I'm getting the whole car painted eventually, but this will do until I can do that.

haha yea I figured I would let the BFH argue with it next time I take the bumper off. I forgot to put the bumper foam piece in there as well so its gonna have to come off sooner rather than later. I just had to get it on there so I could drive to school.

Hopefully I can sand, fill and paint that hood soon and get it on there. Its only missing one piece; the tray under the center vent there. The one that drains the water to the front and not all over the engine.. gotta find one and it will be good to go.

I wasn't sure how many people had been using them or not, I won't worry about it then. Should I ditch the hood insulation?

Id rather just rip it out, Its not in the best shape. The only reason I'm tempted to keep it is in case I have a fire again? I should just get an extinguisher, rip the insulation out and call it a day. laugh.gif

Thanks! It's been fun since almost all of the parts I have had from other celica's in the past. I held onto the ones I wanted as I let different cars go for various reasons. I'm finally back with the car I want to build up and had all these toys laying around. The only thing I've been short on has been time! It's funny how things change. biggrin.gif

Holy crap - thats wicked. I wish I had something like that nearby.

One of my neighbours has a lift in his garage - I was thinking about bringing a case o' beer over one day and being all, "Wow, nice lift. Mind if I borrow..."

... but thats just weird, and not like me at all. tongue.gif

Dude I'd totally do that. And bring A LOT of tools and some stuff to work on so they feel bad if they turn you down. lol

And that's awesome about that garage!

My buddy growing up had a great garage. Well his parents did, but anywho I am still close with them and use the garage often. Even though he moved out years ago and has his own family now too haha. I just buy them shop towels and keep the garage fridge stocked with pepsi in exchange for using his lift and tools. Works out great.

Does your neighbor have a project car?
