Thought I'd stop by and say Hi. Been a while. Have LOTS going on in my life right now, mostly bad unfortunately. Had to sell my Corvette last month to put some liquid assets back into pocket, selling all my fun non-essentials for the most part for the same, preparing for a complete start over in terms of life/career save for my family. This has unequivocally been the worst year of my life and it could get MUCH worse before the year ends.
My luck continuing, our beater threw a rod on Tuesday while I was driving up to Purdue to see Dustin. So now the Celica which hasn't been out of the garage since May is seeing daily duty. I must say that the car simply puts a smile on my face still. I think she's thanking me for being used again because she's running FANTASTIC too. Good news about the Vette sale is that I've got some high end audio equipment to go in the Celica now (Bravox component speakers being the high end, mundane Alpine amps for power, need to build a box and find a nice sub still). Still have the Trans Am also......Got the turbo kit in on the new motor and it's having the tune finished up. It's going to be stupid when it's done. I'll put it like this. 25-30% outruns normal traffic flow from a stop easily, and 9% throttle to cruise at 80 MPH. It's moving air quite nicely and sounds pissed off at the same time. How ya'll been here?? -------------------- |

Well, it's interesting actually. My wife tried telling me to sell the Celica and keep the Vette because a lot of this years events stemmed from her decisions. But I had to be realistic about it and say no, we're keeping the Celica because it's paid for, and if I sell the vette I put (literally) $13K cash assets back into my pocket after payoff. Just the logical choice. I never planned to get rid of ANY of my toy cars, but considering the Celica and Trans Am are paid for.......I shouldn't ever have to get rid of them. Only reason I ditched the vette was because of the payment, otherwise I'd have kept it.

Lol, thanks guys. Good thing is that with the departure of the Vette, I don't have a third car to concentrate on. So once the T/A is finished up, I'm planning on some motor upgrades for the Celica.

Glad to see ya around, and glad to see you're hanging in there despite the voraciously craptastic year. Join the club, I think I speak for a LOT of people when I say 2010 can suck my ass. It's been a really rough year, at least take comfort in knowing that there's barely 3 weeks left of it! I thoroughly welcome 2011 as a fresh start and will be giving 2010 the finger on the way out.
Hang in there. -------------------- |

Good to know you're still alive! It seems like you finished the Celica then dropped off the face of the earth. I've always meant to take the short drive over there to check your car out, and I'm actually going to St. Louis tonight. But I'll have a third person with me who won't care about the car and the weather is supposed to turn crappy, so I'm gonna have to pass tonight.

Well.....I'm back to finishing the celica again after today. Fender bender, jacked up the nose. Stop and go traffic and I slid on some ice. I KNEW I should have bought a beater last week when I had the chance. Dang it.
With everything else I've got going on, this was just about the straw. I'd have had a complete meltdown had my son not been in the car. I started to actually, but stopped quickly because he doesn't need to see that (16 months old). Good news is that the shop that did the paint has some left over, bad news is that they don't have an opening until Jan 3. Worse news is that I still don't have a beater to drive. -------------------- |

Wow! Thank god you and your son are ok! Damage isn't so bad. Your projectors are intact too! If I were you, I'd wait till winter is over because who know's what else may happen. *knock on wood*
