the lsd dif alone cost me 300.

I used it on my 3sgte and also have a spec stage 3 6 pluck unsprung clutch rated for 400 ft/lbs. It did NOT chatter and always was a pleasure to drive... minus traffic lol. It allows the s54 trans to be bolted to a 3sge or a 3sgte. Paid lil over 400 just for the clutch would sell as a package for 700 bucks.

trans i got from a wrecking yard and was told it had under 50k miles on it. Ive probably put another 20k or less miles on it.... the diff was bought off ebay and didnt have a mileage but when I got it the dif looked super clean and had a professional transmission shop (Anaheim Gear) install it into the trans, i asked them to take a look at the trans and if it needed to be rebuilt to do so... they told me that the trans looked good and didnt need a rebuild and thus just installed the dif.

hey BonzaiCelica wink.gif might be nice in that beams if you where going to be picking that up... im just saying lol just and idea biggrin.gif

^ wrong,

Viscous LSDs may stop working due to overheating or excesive abuse, but this is a Hellical ? torsen LSD so that's not an issue.

yup torsen/helical lsd's last very long after all its just gears... no clutch/discs to wear down.

btw if someone doesnt pick this up soon Ill be needing to use the pressure plate and wont be able to sell the clutch made to interface the trans with a 3s... the clutch alone new goes for 450

hmm Yes I know what you mean Craig. But the thing is that this one was put through some abuse being that your 3sgte does have about 250hp+ and 230 ft lb torque. And unknown mileage but this sure beats buying a $1,100 quaife lsd, but then again I"ll have a peace at mind knowing the quaife is brand new smile.gif

torsen/helical/quaife lsds can handle tons of power/torque with ease... some of the stock ones in toyota have handled more power then i ever threw at it.

hell no thats way to cheap and crap from what a guy who's been working on toyota for the past 10 years told me. the only other helical lsd you should get is the quaife.

IIRC all mrS's has helical/torsen diffs EXCEPT the 01's which it only came as an option. i havent heard anything about obx's helical/torsen or clutch type diff's or how they compare as far as weight to the stock toyota one.

BTW the helical/torsen diff in the mrS (which i used in my S54) use to be the now discontinued lsd diff that was offered as a trd part. Since the S and C series trans share the same diff toyota just pulled it out of the parts bin for the mrS
