Now would the rear calipers off an MR2 work on the Celica? It'd be pretty sick if it did because the Turbo ones are 2 pot as well are u serious. hmm wont hurt to try... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... ok guys, im done with this and as always
QUOTE FIRST OF ALL DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. DO NOT HOLD ME RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, "FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY, NOT HIGHWAY" Ha hahere are the final pics... MR2 pad vs the celica pad, very close in shape... means caliper are equally centered. both caliper brackets side by side... the only problem with mr2 bracket is the points that attach to the spindle, the rest is equal except for coupe of mms. views of the caliper mounted to the brackets and comparison. Red one is the GT celica the dirty one is the MR2 turbo the contacts with the gt celica pad and the pistons are good, centered, good thing is not needing a special disc. Im giving it a go for my car, and to top that off some sandblasting and TLC once i have the paint all dried up, ill post the final pics.. All you naysayers, upgrade can mean anything, looks, bling, performance, or PREFERENCE... TOTAL COST: 126 for brakes, 1 can of brake fluid, i can of caliper paint, couple ounces of 80 grit dust. To me this is PRICELESS... This post has been edited by njccmd2002: Jun 23, 2011 - 10:15 AM -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I'm gunna offer less on them, like $20 and see where it goes from there cause it's a decent upgrade from the single pot, but it doesn't cost as much as the gt-4 ones

So this is basically a direct bolt up to the GT front brakes, will it work for a ST?

so if people use the mr2 outers on the halfshafts and we now can use the sw20 2pots, can we take the wheel hub spindle and mate it with ours and redrill our rotors for a 5x114.3 bolt pattern???

I repeat go to Page 6 for an actual brake caliper twin piston upgrade!
So If the pads are the same size as the ST185 GT-Four Twin Piston, 94+ MR2 Turbo and Celica then I'll want to buy a set of these twin piston calipers. I looked online and aftermarket performance brake pads are super expensive from japan. I'm talking about $250+ shipping minimum. you have to buy pads for a celica gt. Remember the caliper bracket and disc are from the celica. I do not recommend any other pad, with that being said feel free to venture.
my discs are old, and already have a groove where the celica pads have been going. So putting the mr2 pads will only damage them right now, because there is a 2mm diff, with new discs, it might be different. well the other side of the story are lexus es330 pads, i will post all pads for comparison. lexus vs celica celica vs mr2 go to the junkyard and collect pads, see which fit and which dont. looks as if the mr2 ones will give you more contact area. I wonder how the st165 2 pot calipers will work if you take the caliper bracket off. I know its a direct fit on the at200 because I have it on there now off my old st165. we'll see this summer.
