What exactly is the wideband bung for? forgive my noobishness.
If I get the one without the option and then decide to do something requiring it will I be SOL or can the base one be modified? If I go with the wideband bung now can it be plugged until/if/when I am ready to use it? I guess my question is am I better off to go with the fully loaded just to have the option available? or should I just stick with the standard because I have no idea why I would want the fully loaded model? -------------------- ST205 Crew represent

Can anyone else add to this? that's my understanding of it you can get it without the wideband option and still have a port to plug your stock O2 sensor. If you go with the wideband option, it comes with a plug that you can plug up until you are ready to use it in the future having the black ceramic coating will keep the exhaust heat in the downpipe for cooler engine temps. this can also be achieved by thermal exhaust wraps which you can do yourself This post has been edited by nammer: Feb 4, 2011 - 6:37 PM -------------------- |

Will the stock 205 heat shields still bolt in with this downpipe installed?
How does it integrate with the stock exhaust system? Before the cat? Unless there's a big issue with fitment, I'm in for the 3rd gen standard version - I'll get it ceramic coated with a bunch of other stuff at the same time, all shiny-like. So, pending any issues: 1. nammer, 3rd gen, fully loaded 2. kaos, 3rd gen, Fully loaded. Dumb/noob questions before I plunge:
The benefits of this mod? (sounds like it's mainly about reliability?) Can I get confirmation of shipping costs to NZ (doesn't appear as if any other Kiwis have jumped in yet) Is this a mod I can do myself or am I better off getting my mechanics to fit it? Anyway, good on you Nammer for being so pro-active ps. If I do join this list I would be going 3rd Gen fully loaded -all or nothing is my view on life lol cheers Bruce |

Nammer - think its possible to save on shipping if all us (403) Celica owners just had the orders shipped to 1 address here?
Kellen; Tara, would you two be down for that? (and anyone else in Calgary for that matter) -------------------- |

(and anyone else in Calgary for that matter) Absolutely 100% down with this. Just curious as to all this talk with the wideband o2 bunge; If I do not get this bunge added on the downpipe, is there still a bunge for my stock o2 sensor? If not I will have to change what I am needing haha. -------------------- current project: looking :(

If one of you could organize who the dp's will be shipped to and send me a PM (how many also). I'll remind them over at berk tech of the shipping details. You need the wideband o2 port to be there for your stock o2 sensor. People who opt for getting the dp without the port can either drill one in themselves, or choose to put the o2 sensor somewhere else along their exhaust system. -------------------- |

Shipping to one location makes sense; I'm down for that. I'd even offer to ship to my place, or we can even potentially arrange to ship to RCTS in the south end of town - my bf used to work there, and is good buddies with Reg Reimer. I'd have to check on that though.
And yes, I didn't realized that the standard model doesn't have a place for the stock o2 sensor - will the port for the wideband fit the stock sensor? Does it match up with the hole in the heatshield? If yes, then I need to switch to the fully loaded model. Apologies for what is essentially a repeat of a previous question! The GT4 is supposed to be my slow stock summer car... it doesn't look like it's staying that way, but I've no plans to go standalone anytime soon! -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four, sea spray pearl - Summer DD and cruiser.

I'm out in Airdrie, but am in and out of town every day - and for you Kellen, you know I travel back and forth to the Hat like once a month, and if I don't my wife does. You might just have to meet up with her or something... lol. I still have that damn 7th Gen rim of yours sitting in the back of my 204. -------------------- |

People who opt for getting the dp without the port can either drill one in themselves, or choose to put the o2 sensor somewhere else along their exhaust system. just to clarify. the berk downpipe comes with the mount for the stock O2 sensor, located near the upper section of the downpipe. (its visable in the pic in the first post of this thread) optionally, it has a bung for a wideband o2 sensor, located in the lower section of the downpipe. if you order it with the wideband bung, it comes with a screw in plug for it, to seal the hole, should you not want to use it right away. (a tip here, those of you who get the wideband option, and use the plug, make sure you tighten it up good before you drive around. if not it will rattle loose and fall out.) nammer, you should know these kinds of details BEFORE you set up the GB for a product. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Thank-you Manny for the clarification . I agree with you that I should have known this detail before setting up the group buy, but it was a detail that slipped as no one started to ask about it until recently. My apologies, I stand corrected. I will edit the original post to include this detail shortly. This post has been edited by nammer: Feb 4, 2011 - 6:46 PM -------------------- |
