Hi
I`m looking for a iriduim spark plugs for my celica. Could anyone tell me with sure what should be the heat range (I`m talking about NGK). The engine is 3s-ge!

IK20s should be just fine for you. you can find them on ebay all day long

i dont know much about the 3s-ge but make sure the engine will accept iridium plugs. some engines out there can get damage from the different types of plugs you put in your car. ( and im not talking about like different heat ranges lol) like i said im not sure about the 3s.. someone on here should know.

as long as you get the right plug you dont need to gap iridium plugs, bad things can possibly happen if you try to gap your own iridium plugs. or platnum. as far as i know copper you can gap and everything will be ok.

BKR6EIX for Iridium IX plugs to suit the 3S-G*

If theres a choice of -8 or -11 on the end its the -8. Eg, BKR6EP-8 is the platinums that I use

Like I said in my other spark plug thread. Pre-gapped plugs are never accurate. My NGK platinum plugs were "pregapped", I measured it, and they all had a gap between 0.034-0.035. My ST needs a gap of 0.028. Skyler is right though, bad things can happen if you try to gap platinum or iridium plugs, but with a traditional gapper like this one.


But if you use a wire gap tool like this one,


you'll be able to gap a delicate platinum/iridium plug with no problems. Pre gapped plugs are a myth.

Personally, I like to have both tools. I like to use the traditional one to measure the gap (I find it easier than meauring with the wires) but the wire tool to actually gap the plugs.
