Ok strange question as it might be. Is there any significant dangers to just lowering just the front of my car? Faster wear on other parts because only the front is lowered? I dont wanna lower the back cause i want a little bit of "nose down" look for the 6gc. Thanks in advance for the inputs.

wow man like the old skool american muscle... i winder if that would look good on a 6gc. i would go with the coilover suggestion. the sky is the limit when it comes to adjustments if you have a nice set of coils!

I dont think it would look to much like the old school muscle cars. The back of my car has aout an inch or less gap. The front has almost 2 inches. I think coilovers would be overkill in the city i drive in. I'd rather go for tein + GR2 combo. I know tein lowers the front more anyway |

there's nothing wrong with having the front lower than the rear. i've had front tein lowering springs and stock rears for about a year without issues. and yeah the front gap is pretty hideous, that's why i did the fronts only at first but then realized lowering springs all around in the winter ain't so bad after all. just as long as you're not on coilovers because then you would have to deal with reduced comfort, interior vibrations, and if you go really low then you're also gonna get torn cv boots.

i got it from the yahoo auctions. i use rinkya to browse for parts but shipping is the deal breaker though. i was quoted $470 for shipping at first but i managed to get it cut which ended up costing only $90 for shipping.

Can you order just front lowering springs separately? I want t o do the exact same thing just lower the front. But I was wondering can I just switch the spring and that's it wheels will still be aligned(camber) properly. I just want to lower 1.5 in front. when i got my st, only the front was lowered. mainly i think cos the previous owner needed to change the rear links(which i've done) to fit the rear springs.
as with anything you do with the susspension, the camber and toe may be out. best thing to do, before to take owt apart, try to mark everything. doesn't effect the handling in anyway, just makes the front a little more bumpy. and in theory, should help prevent understeer in corners with it keeping more weight forward |

on a FWD you want the front soft and the rear stiff so that you reduce under-steer/induce over-steer, lowering the front will probably make the front stiffer and the rear will be unchanged increasing under-steer.

I like the "nose down" stance. Not everypone's gonna be a fan. on a FWD you want the front soft and the rear stiff so that you reduce under-steer/induce over-steer, lowering the front will probably make the front stiffer and the rear will be unchanged increasing under-steer. It's a daily driver. I wont be doing any racing whatsoever and it barely goes past 60 mph. from what everyone that's done it is saying they had no problem so i should be ok too. |
