Well I got the two carrier bearings done and mounted in the car. However i'm rethinking the rear part of the driveshaft. I was planning on keeping with the angle of the transmission. I realized though that the shaft has a C.V. joint in the middle. This way I can raise the rear subframe up a little higher if I want.
As of right now I have everything lined up, but the subframe does seem to sit kinda low. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

if you raise it, make sure to leave some playing room, as the engine will move along with the trans and the CV in the shaft is there to allow this movement.

The driveshaft is fixed on that end, the spline connection and U joint on the transmission will take care of the movement of the engine. I'm pretty sure the CV joint is there to account for the angle difference that the rear subframe needs to be. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

This it the 'GT4' driveshaft _Jim_ sent me versus the real one. The longer one is the actual GT4 shaft. Anyone looking to do this swap don't buy a damn thing from him you'll be lucky if you get anything, if you do itll probably wrong or broken.
These are the awesome axles he sent me. Anyways, i'm still debating what I want to do with the front mounts. The rear mounts are made and tacked in. Doesn't look like much but lining everything up and getting everything in the exact location is the tough part. Everything has to be checked angles. I think I spent 2 hours just getting the rear subframe in the exact location it needed to be in. Mounts just tacked in.. I could have had the AWD 'done' today, however I ran out of welding gas. I have the front mounts built and ready to go just tacked into place.
I have a few hours of welding to do though; all the driveshaft mounts, rear mounts, new pieces of the cage, front mounts. Once I have all that welded I'll start working on the fuel cell mounts. They require that the fuel cell has a bulkhead between it and the passenger compartment. All fuel and brake lines will be routed inside the car, as they will probably last 12 seconds if routed in the stock location. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

AWD subframe tied into the cage. I'm not thrilled with how it looks, but oh well. It works.
Re-made the roof bars for more head clearance. Start of the fuel cell bulkhead. Everything has to be sealed from the passenger compartment. Using a surge tank that's why I have two fuel pumps. The area with the tank and pumps sits about an inch lower since the pumps should be below the fuel cell. The cell also has to be FIA FT3 approved, which basically means not cheap. whats your estimate on the weight of the rollcage? it looks beefy, but heavy The tube is ~1.5lbs a foot. I have about 120 feet of tube. So 175i'sh lbs. About 100 of those feet are required just to get log booked. This post has been edited by czwalga: Mar 14, 2011 - 8:08 AM -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

Got the fuel cell mounted in the car. Still have a little work to do on it, but it's in there.
Have a separate area for the surge tank and fuel pumps. I dont have the top of the fuel cell bolted on in the pics, also don't have the AN bulkheads installed. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq
