Just wondering if yours is smooth on the inside of the bellmouth, the metal they used on mine is overlapping and I was wondering if this is a common thing, I have about a quarter inch of extra metal that overlaps in two places on the inside of the bellmouth. Thanks
I will post pics when I get around to it, I dont know if this is a bad thing but i dont want to take a dremel to it because it is coated I would have thought that Berk would have caught it and ground it down, the rest of the quality is good though.

mine overlapped alittle, but I don't think it will cause any issues...its part of the fabricating and that specific section doesn't bother me.

I was just making sure, I am not shooting for 500hp or anything so it obviously will not affect it, I just dont want to be the only one who got one like that.

Received my Berk DP today. Super quick shipping to Canada.
First glance, I am very happy with the construction of this pipe. Welds are ridiculously clean and the downpipe overall is gorgeous.
We got an amazing deal on this and thank you Nammer for putting this together for us.

I am super happy I went with the non-black coated as well, stainless just looks sexy when its natural, especially when my cars black wink.gif

I emailed them a reminder..I'll let everyone know when I know. I would assume it should be all shipped by mid next week? Let's cross our fingers...

Some of these welds have me a bit concerned. I realize that this is the exhaust portion of the whole system, and is not nearly as critical as other parts, but don't you think that some of these edges may create unwanted ho tspots? Or am I just dumb, and need to shut up? All the welds on the exterior are remarkable and look excellent.

Hi Nammer. I dont know if mine is in post yet or not but can you ask Birk to make sure the inside is properly ported as I wont be happy to receive a DP which doesn't have a smooth flow especially when paying for it to be shipped half way round the world.
Sorry not meaning to be negative but you did say "these DP's are the best ones out there for 3SGTE engines" and a smooth internal flow are the basics.

I'm starting to worry about mine a little now! It hasn't been shipped yet. Nammer could you let them know about the few complaints? I guess anyone who wants to contact them can do so themselves as well. I hope no one runs into any major problems though! I'm sure they do know what they're doing at Berk Tech..
And like a few have said I think you, Nammer, for setting all of this up and communicating with the company this whole time

It's best of you contact them directly with your concerns since you are their paying customer and it's easier for them to deal with you directly rather then through me (but I will also mention it to them).

As mentioned to bsamps4, it's best for you to contact them (just so they will be more prompt in addressing a customer directly)...but I will also mention this to them (just so they can hear it twice and know we are serious about these concerns)

man...everyone is getting me worried too...I am in the same shoes as everyone here as I never bought a product from them before either.....these are the first complaints I've heard about berk on this forum so I'm just as surprise as you are...but since I'm responsible for setting this group buy up..I'll do my best to look into all of these concerns and let you know what they (berk tech) have to say

I emailed then about our concerns. This is what they said:

QUOTE
Our downpipes are overbuilt for the task and we have not had a single
downpipe failure on these, ever.  If one has happened I do not know
about it.  The downpipe was designed from a clean sheet and the
bellmouth design and flex section are unique to our downpipes.  The
downpipe area is 3x's larger than our next closest competitor so you
will not have any issues with a flow restriction at the wastegate.
Smooth internal pipes are very important in critical areas if laminar
flow is needed such as near the AFM or intake port.  On an internal
combustion engine I can't think of a more turbulent than the area
right behind the turbine flange and WG flapper.

What they are seeing on the backside is precipitation on the backside
of the weld.  If you grind the backside of the weld you make it weaker
than if you leave it alone.  If I were to backpurge the pipe before
they are welded it will look smooth.  That is not a problem but I will
certainly charge a lot more for the pipe if it is that important for
them.

Also, we have a one year warranty on all Berk Products. Hope that helps.

Best Regards,

Bryan

Thanks Nammer. I appreciate you being the middle man but I have to disagree with what they said about grinding the backside of the weld you make it weaker because Aussie DP comes ported and though very little imperfection, it is important.

Mines not shipped yet... frown.gif

Can't believe the complaints. For the price, I won't complain about some tiny weld INSIDE the pipe! Will it perform? That's the only question I ask. If somebody want to go on a dyno, then put the pipe and do another run, then we'll know if it is as good as they say. We'll know later if it is as overbuilt as they say. For now, be happy for the great deal you had.

My 2 cents
