HIR 9011 daytime running light at night, used a flashlight to trick them into coming on for me. thats about 1/2 power or less for the DRL, when I flip my high beams on its like Old Gregg's mangina. thanks for that vivid description. -------------------- ◊◊◊ My F/S Thread! ◊◊◊
QUOTE (14:19:21) Daniel: That was a JDM hole in the side of the box too. There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out. And so the summer of suspension begins with a whimper, ordering some toe adjusters for the rear suspension which are seized...then the full on crescendo starts to build with the ordering of a full urethane suspension bushing kit for front and rear control arms and yes, even steering rack bushings.
QUOTE (Summit Racing) PTP-18-2007-BL Master Bushing Kit; Total Kit; Black; Incl. C-Arm Front And Rear/Sway Bar Bushings * Warnings o This is a special order part. When you complete checkout, the part will be ordered for you from the supplier. * $133.95 * 1 * $133.95 Part Subtotal $133.95 Order Charges Delivery and Handling Charge $11.95 Order Subtotal $145.90 And so it begins. I installed the SS braided brake hoses last week, she's parked right now again because the weather turned nasty. Mobil1 5w-40 TDT is a little thick when its 40F outside, fine when its 60F though. -------------------- |

Thanks! I'm still undecided on springs just yet, probably going to go with AGX struts since I can get them locally should one fail. Not the most exotic of choices, but they're not hard to come by and won't break the bank. I may just run with Eibach sport lines or pro kit since I have their rear sway already...I need to put some research into this though, I've done none really beyond looking at projected drop amounts. I don't want to slam it low and worry about every bump and pothole and curb, nor do I want to go so low as the screw with suspension geometry and actually hurt the handling.
Did you hear the 'and so it begins' in his voice? Its fun being the only 7th gen at the 6th gen meets, round round round round doorstop round round round wait what? This post has been edited by Bitter: Apr 16, 2011 - 8:51 PM -------------------- |

Well I went to my auntie's after work to paint the drums for the Mazda (flat black, no rice) and it turns out the brake cleaner I got (free sample from a sales rep) sucks ass. Didn't cut the cosmoline at all, just left them oily. Well that boned my plan for the evening, right? Nope. Since I had a warm barn and a hard floor I decided to get to work and installed the same 15" chrome horn my Mazda has on the Celica...just barely ****ing fit in there too. I had to pull the bumper off to get it in there, it was a real trick too. So I've got the bumper off...and suddenly the Celica starts feeling sick, looks a little funny and then just ****ing pukes all this crap out on the ground!
THE **** DO I DO? Oh yea, I do this... So I didn't pull any fuses to reset fuel trims or anything, they'll sort themselves out fine all on their own. I'm not sure if its all in my mind but I think I feel a slight more 'go' from the engine, I know for one thing lift is ****ing ricer loud on the mother****er now. Holy ****! Full throttle there is no doubt when lift engages from the sound alone. Part throttle it feels a little better as well, more driving should allow the computer to play with trims to get it all running right. I'll check them Monday with the Verus and see where they're at and if the intake is messing with things too much. I broke one little stud off of a clip that is one of 4 that hold some under panels in place, I'll grab a one from the dealer if I can or get some stainless hardware and fix it DIY. I need to get one lag screw back into place on one other clip, it just wouldn't line up for me...probably because the horn is pushing against the plastic slightly. Oh yea, thats loud too. If you can't go fast at least be loud enough to be heard coming in last. -------------------- |

Plugged up the slats in the wheel well plastic so the filter won't get sprayed with water from the tire...might also dampen the sound a little.

So a few days now with the StopTech street performance pads in the rear, I like them. Rotors are clean, wheels are dirty, the rear brakes actually get hot, and the car feels like its more stable during a good stop. Brake balance feels good now, they compliment the Hawk HPS in the front well.

auto....why? It's my mothers fault. No really! I wanted to get a 6spd but I commute to work with lots of stop and go and winter and what not, so I found an auto for a good price ($5800 with 84K and CLEAN). THEN she decided to give me her old car. Had I known she was going to just GIVE me her old car, I'd have bought the 6spd. Swap isn't out of the question. Well it is for now. Blew my wad on some chinese coil overs. Maybe in a couple years if I still like the car. Straight line speed is fun but curves hold my attention much more. Probably because there are so few in the midwestern grid. -------------------- |
