Okay i have a 1997 celica ST (AT200) 1.8L and its stock everything. Im commited to eventually putting in a ST205 3S-GTE motor but im pretty sure i need a new tranny from a GT-4 model. Is this the E154F tranny? and also, what would be the first steps to getting to my goal? Exhaust? if so, what model because I need alot of help but am commited to getting this done. Thanks

Since the 3S-GTE is turbo, you're going to need a 3" exhaust. So don't worry about that until the swap. A 3" on a NA tiny 4cyl is going to make it choke and suffer.

First steps would be to upgrade the suspension if you ask me.

You can't use the 4wd tranny, you need either an mr2 tranny or a v6 camry tranny.
You will also need to change your motor mounts.

I would upgrade the brakes 1st, then I would go for the suspention. After that you can think about doing the swap and the exhaust at the same time.

Alright, first of all welcome to the site thumbsup.gif

The main thing you should do is read up on some old thread of previous pioneer's who have done the swap using the AT chasis, use the search function on the top right of the site and check out Defgeph. He's one of the MODs here and he swapped a 2nd gen 3sgte into his car which I believe WAS an AT chasis 6gc. The trans of choice would be the trans out of a Turbo-2 (MR2 SW20), v6 Camry or ES300......the E153 transmission.

of course as you use the Search Function more you'll find that you also can use the S54 trans. Then you read more and you'll find out that you can use the MR-S 1zz LSD in the s54 trans.

Find your budget barrier, shop for parts and figure out your total parts list cost.

But if you wanna boogie with the 7a motor you got now a good exhaust 2 1/4 piping muffler of choice and suspension goodies and you'll fall in love with the car all over again.

Food for thought: Dont build you car fast, you will get bored of it really quick. Thus wanting something else to drive. So take it slow, enjoy the car, build it in a timely matter according to yourself.

The E154f CAN be used for fwd, just need to be converted, you end up using the diff out of an mr2 and the cover plate for it
