Ok i recently decided that i want to get HID. However, I plan on hopefully buying JDM projectors later on. I know that the projectors are H1 bulbs but wasn't sure if they came with factory HID. I don't wanna waste money by getting the HID kit now for the 9006 bulb, then getting the projectors, and having to buy the HID kit for the H1 bulbs. Is there any way to get the HID kit now for the 9006, then get the projectors and buy the H1 HID bulb to hook up to the kit??? Thanks.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that you can buy just HID bulbs. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I believe it's called a ballast, and I think it's universal whether you get 9006 bulbs or H1 bulbs, as long as they're all from the same manufacturer/kit. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

You CAN get H1 HID conversion, which is what im doing as soon as i get the funds for both the projectors and HID, looks very very nice.
But dont get HID conversion for your existing headlights. Our USDM crap isnt worth spending the $350+ on getting HID cuz its not crystal clear, its illegal, and your beam is going to go everywhere. And no you cant buy a 9006 conversion and put a H1 bulb in...they're completely different. Just wait til you get the projectors and then get the conversion. Hey thanks guys for the response. Yeah what I was hoping for was that the Ballast would be universal as long as you used the same manufaturer bulb. That way there would be no need to cut the factory 9006 harness to convert to the H1 harness.
It would be awesome if it was universal. That way you could get the 9006 kit and hook it directly to your car's 9006 harness then just swap the 9006 bulb for the H1 bulb to fit in the projectors. I guess i'm gonna have to try calling the company and finding out for sure. If all else fails then I'll probably just get the 9006 HID's now then sell them or something and buy the H1 HID kit when i get the projectors. thanks --Mike-- |
