Springs don't add a whole lot for performance, they're more for looks. Totally not true. Stiffer springs improve cornering ability. The lower they are, the better the cornering ability due to lower center of gravity. Accompanied with a stiff strut (or adjustable), it almost nullifies the need for a stiffer swaybar. I'm running Koni Special D's with Eibach Sportline springs and couldn't be happier. Usually you can find KYB and Eibach setups for a good price and are definitely the route to go for minor lowering and performance modification. I wouldn't spend the $1000+/- on good coilovers unless you're serious about driving hard. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles. lol ebay coilovers are decent. i had mines for over a year on my corolla and it drove fine. only problems were: they were bouncy and you didn't know when they were going to break LOL. i believe the new owner still has em' on to this day (3 years)!

I'd say 95% atleast of the people that buy coilovers in general do not drive there car hard enough to know the difference between a $800 vs $12,000 coilovers.

Sounds to me like you don't drive your car hard enough for coilovers. I'd just go for replacement struts and springs if I were you. With coilovers, you'll be paying more money just to have a certain look. $800+ for a look isn't worth it to me when you get a very similar look with perfect function for your needs for $400-500.
