Just re-read the entire thread AJ and you have done some great work. Glad to see you made it to the dyno and numbers are impressive compared to a stock 7A - good gains. Can't wait to see the car in person in August! Thanks Brian, I appreciate it. I also looked back to the beginning and noticed my original plan was to make a solid motor mount attached further back on the frame to fit the charger...the reason I was thinking that is because when I bought the vortech on ebay it was labeled as ccw rotation. Luckily I noticed it was actually clockwise rotation before I made up the bracket to install it. Ben is supposed to hook me up with a good deal on a FMIC when we meet up. I made a little heat shield over the weekend that kind of wraps around the header (there's also header wrap on there). It's thin gauge aluminum, but better than nothing. Also got rid of the purple and coated everything with some zinc chromate primer and a little clear. Not everyone's cup of tea for color, but atleast I have corrosion protection to the max haha. very nice install, i may ask, will a stock charger from a 4agze work on 7afe?
in the philippines its hard to find those vortech chargers, but i can definitely find/get a surplus 4agze charger. TIA. |

Yea you could use it, it's just a matter of making it fit, aligning it and all of that fun stuff. They're kind of dated though and it'd be hard to find one in really good condition without a lot of miles on it, but that would still be cool. oh sorry i thought that was flywheel hp, very nice then, you've done some decent power increase if you ask me. far from stock! No problem, thanks....it's an OK increase, but I can't wait to get an intercooler on it and get back on the dyno. It already feels a lot faster with a smaller pulley and more boost. |

a 4a blower would probably be a reasonable match for a 7a-fe, as they would have no where near the VE of a 4a-ge and dont rev as hard.

FMIC and Half Radiator installed. For any 7afe guys thinking about an optional radiator, a civic half rad will work with the stock radiator hoses, you just need a couple pieces of metal to secure it. I'll try to get pics up 2morr. Turns out that vortechs are super easy to clock, you unscrew the 6 allen head bolts and can spin it any where you want 360degrees.

been waiting for someone to start a thread like this. It's totally different and looks like a fun ass ride. It is fun for sure. There is so much win in this thread!! Great work. I was just in Wilmington two weeks ago, wished I would seen this! Thanks, I'm glad some people are into it. Here's some pics, I still need to clean up/paint the piping and get some new t-bolt clamps, but it's pretty much done. I'm planning on auto x'ing the car on the 24th :-) My 3 year old son "helping" me. Lol he's not a lot of help, but atleast he's interested. Vortech Civic Half Radiator, with stock 7afe rad hoses. There are very simple aluminum L brackets (upper and lower) that I made to make sure the radiator doesn't move, but I missed them in the pics. I used the old top radiator bracket hole and one of the holes for the underbody plastics for the bottom (plastics are still installed). *Edit - also forgot to mention there is a 1500cfm fan on the rad in the front, but it runs so cool it hardly ever comes on. Thanks, I'm kind of surprised no one has tried the rad before (that I've seen anyway).
Yea, those ramps were totally worth the $ and time, I hate using the jack stands. They're way safer than those short plastic ones they sell too. |

Nah, I can take more if needed though. You can get the rad with fan for like $70 (or so) shipped on ebay.
Tranny is stock. |

Any plans of throwing an intercooler on soon? I love this project...it's silver, an ST, and it's supercharged. Nice.
