i need to know for something:
for the people with st204s, or other 5s motors stock, how much did ur 3s swap cost u?
out the door, dont really need details unless important like if u changed internals or rebuilt it before install.

assuming this is what u did:
a good used motor with low miles.
E153 tranny
basic intercooler and bov
and ofcourse wiring and ecu.

how much did it cost u ~

i used a s54 tranny but i'd say $2500 with new clutch and a extra used turbo.

Motor w/ shipping was 2800 for me. Mine is a WRC version. You can get others for less.

With rebuild ie: machine work, pistons, rods, bearings, etc...1900$ in building.

Final estimated swap costs taking everything into account.....

maybe 6000$

yup, a basic swap, doin the labor yourself normally runs 4-6k. add 1k for e153, a bit more for lsd.

So far only $800 - but my swap is ST202 3SGE, not the 3SGTE. biggrin.gif

Yes, those prices are the swappers doing the work themselves.

I'd say... 3,600 give or take.
CP pistons, eagle rods, re-machined head/block, ONLY ARP hardware and Cometic gaskets, new parts galore, uprated alternator, stage 2 clutch kit w/light flywheel
machine work done by shop, and another shop found idle issue (cost me nearly a grand). swap done by myself and friends w/basic tools and a lot of garage space.

have lots of left over parts too.
