Are jdm taillights just plug and play or howu install them

The USDM wiring harness has an extra bulb that the JDM tails don't have. Otherwise, yes it's all plug and play. I don't mean to sound like a douche, but there is a how-to for this and other basic but tasteful mods in the stickies

^ Is that really true because I had to use the JDM harness, but I assume we are talking about the red out tails with the clear lense (facelift type). Or is there a jdm tail that accepts 1156 and 1157 or do you have to mod or chip the housing a bit to fit the sockets in?

True story. Apparently it plugs right in with no issues, apart from having a spare bulb. That way you don't have to remember what bulbs the JDM tails use. I just used the JDM harness as well- there's no reason not to if you have it. This thread doesn't explicitly say it, but the pictures show the extra bulb/socket in the USDM harness. with mine, my sockets did not twist into my jdm ones. thats why i had to use the japan harness all the way to the inside of the body.
