Although as impressive as it is that guy with the gt8 seriously needs to do something about the lack of grip or increase his drivers skill as it does appears he has ruined the handling of an st185.

If you want/need a rear gt4 subframe.. Ihave one...great work looking at this makes me miss my car... Great work! I would have gone with the gt4 subframe and suspension but. Cost of those isnt cheap most i see are around a grand and strengh wise i would think the supra one would be stronger , also the actual parts available for the supra stuff. Makes it worth it to i have 200 in the donor car so price is right to me since i have to fabricate mounts anyways and the supra subframe is same width as rails on celica. ,,,atleast on the rear mounts |

I'm curious as to know how much you will need to cut the firewall to clear the bell housing. Could u post pictures if possible? Do you think u will run into any issues with the hvac unit? Iirc where you will need to cut would be where the heater core is. I haven't seen a celica without the dash in a long time. Just trying to get an idea because I have been wanting to do the similar build for a while.

from what i have mesured and looked at you can go atleast 4 or 5 inches up on that area in the middle before yah run and then its the lower outputs for the floor heat/air which if ihave to ditch those thats fine but i do wanna keep heat and ac so i willprob have to keep the moto out a bit to clear heater hose input/outputs
which is fine cause theres lots of room in the bay |

Thanks for the reply. How much room could one gain by using the w58/55 transmission instead? Or is the bell housing the same size as the r154? I'd like to avoid moving the engine forward because of weight distribution. Any plans on the brake set-up on the build?
I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread, so I can get a good idea on wheel offsets with the wider track on the narrower celica body. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer
