With a compression ration of 11.0:1, it definitely takes premium.

yea ^^^ 93 octane at least, and nothing higher than 94 octane
I use 91 octane and it works fine (or so I think I dont hear any knocking, with a straight pipe its kinda hard to hear if it is ) This post has been edited by BonzaiCelica: Apr 4, 2012 - 1:08 PM -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts

BEAMS is great fun, perfect for a DD. The gas mileage I'm averaging is only slightly better than a 5S, though I'm sure it could be doing better. I doubt if BEAMS will be as much fun as your Alltrac, but if you've got the money, I definitely recommend the BEAMS for a DD.

I run 87 every now and then(when 91 is 2 high) and it doesn't hurt. I get better milage, the only downside is it's a bit more hesitant on take offs if it's a manual.

Did you get any knock or small issues with running 87? BEAMS is great fun, perfect for a DD. The gas mileage I'm averaging is only slightly better than a 5S, though I'm sure it could be doing better. Yeah! the Alltrac is definitely much more fun, but I also love my 6th gen. The Allrac is just my weekend car which I am in the process of swapping it to 4th Gen Caldina 3S. I have used 87 for a few a while now. The comp will re-tune to the new octane. I get no ping or knock. I do notice a small lag when I punch the gas. Other than that, I notice not much difference in octane.
