We've all kind of touched on my absolute biggest peeve but it hasn't been mentioned yet. This peeve, you'll be glad to know, is absent on 6gc. In other communities, no matter how much work you put into your car, you'll get props at most then be totally ignored or flamed altogether. 6gc as a whole seems to care about our own cars, the cars of every member here, and have a lot if respect for other cars in general.

Another Peeve of mine, is the fact whe don't get the regignition we deserve ie. Import Tuner, Modified, or even Project car. And its because the Celica is not a nissan, honda, or subaru. The Supra barely hits the mags is by far the most powerful beast on wheel still to this day. Revault against the mags and let our voice be heard, lol. TOYOTA NATION!!!!!

i hate people who think there 90's "sport coupe" that sold horribly is god among cars. They tend to generalize, have a hatred for other enthusiast's and be the same type of "tuner" they show so much hate for.
yes this is pointed at a lot of people in this thread. what is the point of hating on cars? sure i disagree with how people modify their cars. but its their cars, let them do what they want. -------------------- 2015 Subaru WRX. World Rally Blue/Black

Sold horribly? Why are there so many out there then? I agree with letting people do what they want, but it's their attitude that makes me hate them. Lots of the STM guys around here are dicks. They don't give a **** about anyone unless they drive an Evo, DSM, or 3000GT. Honda owners around here try to race everyone and get pissed when you pop their ziptied bumpers off when you change their battery (true story). I feel like the only mature tuners around here own Toyota's or drive Euro like VW's and Audi. I've yet to meet a mature, non-arrogant Honda tuner that appreciates all cars. However, I have met a few guys with 240sx's that walked around my car in the parking lot and really appreciated a clean 6G. I get more compliments from Euro guys and old muscle guys than I do from anyone else. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles. Not hating, ridiculing. There's a difference. It's just everyone around here that modifies them. They think they're the best thing ever, they have annoying exhaust and attitudes to match. It's good to take pride in your car, but being stupid and arrogant is another thing. Every one I've personally come across is a jerk. Not any cars in themselves I hate, except for sedans. That's another story for another day though.

Compare it to the cars in its class from that time frame the celica didn't sell as well as civics and integra's because it underperformed and was over priced compared to a SI or a GSR. The only 6th gens i see around town are big fart cans and big wings attempting to race and speed. " I've yet to meet a mature, non-arrogant Honda tuner that appreciates all cars." Nice to meet you I'm not saying I didn't love my 6th gen, but it was the car that was "riced" out the most and all i did was rims exhaust and lower it. : I love my new Civic, 200hp, 8k redline, 29mpg and a simple oem look. -------------------- 2015 Subaru WRX. I'm not sure a cam'd 5s could run a 16 second quarter lol - not bad kurt not bad at al
On a side note, we're not....(At least I'M NOT) hating on all hondas. But as a former employee of Honda of America Manufacturing, let me give you a little insight to the company as a whole. They are STICKLERS for absolutely everything all the time. clock in at 6:30.02 when you had to be there at 6:30.00 - goes in your record as being late. Have an idea for implementation? Well it better be about how to make the assembly line run smoother. Want an exciting bit of work that also provides you with an exciting car? It's not anything they make ( with the POSSIBLE exception being the civic, Top Gear tests loved it). Every car they make has boring lines, minimal features, cheap interiors etc etc. NOW - this is to not say they don't make good cars. My Aunt has an Odyssey that is an 06 with nearly 180,000 on it. smooth as silk. Kurts went to 207,000. Awesome. my buddy has a 93 civic 2D hatch with no power steering or A/C and gets 45 mpg with that mug because of it. And ADMITTEDLY maybe it's because the civic and integra sold better so we see more of them "riced" up, and if the Celica sold just as well, maybe there would be a big following for it too. While I worked there I learned a stat.... while the auto market was crashing in 2008-2009-2010, one automaker was making a TON of money. HYUNDAI. The Hyundai bashing from earlier only applies to the older cars. The new ones are freaking awesome. Do you know how they made money? They sold an awesome LINEUP of cars. The Sonata, if you haven't noticed looks incredible from 2010-2011 onward. The stat that HONDA told its employees was this " The Sonata, between 2009 and 2010 increased total sales by 147%. The sales of the camry dropped 22%, and sales of the accord dropped 26%. Studies show that more people are buying the Sonata over the Accord because it gets 2-3 mpg better, it is priced about 2000$ less, comes with more options, and has a higher initial quality rating with better interiors" - And they have YET to change that about themselves. The new CRV looks INFINITELY better, but is still cheap on the inside. The new civic is SWEET. But the accord, still boring. The CRZ, totally useless vehicle.... the list goes on. But in the case of your celica, some rims, lowered a bit, and a good exhaust. That sounds totally tasteful. What is the difference between that and guys with trucks who put on... Big rims and mud tires, LIFT it (instead of lower it), and put dual exhaust on it with chrome tips? To me there is no difference, and as long as it's done with "sense" , that's perfectly fine. but this...... Is inexcuseable. -------------------- |

Indeed, I was heavily considering the Integra before I got the Celica. I got the Celica from my uncle for a good price, if it hadn't been for that I'd be over at a Integra forum most likely. I like the RSX, Prelude, CR-X/Del Sol, S2000, and of course the NSX. I wanted a CR-X, but God forbid you're ever in accident in one of those...

Truth. For the most part around here, if a car's exterior is "modded" in anyway, it usually has some ricey qualities. No matter what make or model. I've seen some pretty ugly (imo) Celicas as well as Civics, but on the flip side I also see the every once in a while clean looking cars and the owners are really cool ( again no matter the make or model). The majority of modifications any of us do can be considered "riced" depending on different people's perspective. When I had the Celica- I painted the wheels flat black, some people are really not a fan of that sort of thing, but I liked it. My RSX now- lowered on 5zigens, again some people would prefer that I didn't mess with the suspension or bought "racing" wheels, but I like them. To go along with that, the majority or the RSX boards people are all about hella-flush, so I get crap for not being that low. Oh well, its my car. -------------------- |

The reason i believe why most Civics/integras are modified is because of Fast and Furious. Those movies advertised Civics/integras so much that every Civic owner was "like Cool my car was in a movie ima make it look like that". I personally like the S2000's they're really the only performance Honda IMO.
