'Twas fun indeed. Learned a bit more today about how the whole thing fits together.

Yesterday, I also installed a Kenwood Excelon receiver...and it's excellent.

spy, what's the size on those tires? Looks almost like a 40 series.

I need to run 40's on my car whenever I get my next set of tires. I think I have 45's on there right now, but it rubs the splash guard in one section on both sides, and I needed to cut my mud flaps cause it would catch a part of them when I went in reverse lol

Today I bought a genuine Postert front lip for my '94 Celi. I'm so happy right now, been searching for a long long time.
It was actually on a car that was for sale here in the neighbourhood, so I just offered the guy €200 euro's for the frontlip only. He thought I was crazy. If only he knew how damn rare it is!

Oh, and I installed my wolfie pre-face clear corners aswell. So pics soon of the complete front!

Haha wow, that's me actually, on my old account. That was actually a fake picture, which me and Kadett posted for fun. But that was my brother's old car, then it was Kadett's (he sold it though). Here's how it actually looked:



Which is basically what my car is going to look like soon, but I'll have 18" wheels, clear corners and it'll be a bit lower.

- clutch
- pressure plate
- starter
- passenger axle
- slave cylinder
- tranny mount
- ebay exhaust manifold (for teh powar)
- shifter assembly/cables
- various lines

Updated...now looking for a manual ECU and clutch master cylinder, along with a flywheel, in all likeliness.

Please tell me you have 10+ years of electrical and wiring knowledge that would debunk the possibility of such wire nuts falling off or becoming un-secure after an extended period of time.

Crimp on's are the best option, but if this is obviously not a perm. option it would be wise to use something that doesn't require you to shorten the wire each change.

But to answer your obvious loaded question, No I did not.

The loom itself was secured and moves as one, with a small amount of electrical tape, not specifically bound to the wire nuts. I felt no need to make my life hell 2-3 years down the road by wrapping the piss out of everything with electrical tape for "secure" - For one, specially in FL, the inside of the vehicle will get to damn hot, and the adhesive of the tape would do nothing but become a goo, with a flappy shell. Makes a mess, and is a waste. The wire nuts, when used correctly, work like a charm.

If wanting to disagree further, please reference the first point made.

The progress thread on said vehicle may yield more results of how such wiring went instead of a step by step progression in the "today I...." concept thread.

Aren't those used in houses, without electical tape?
I don't see the issue not using them here as well.

Marveled at how most mechanics zip things down with an impact, resulting in two things. One being time saved to work on other cars, two being stripped bolts. Thanks previous dealership mechanic for making my afternoon hell. Problem solved though, rechased threads and replaced bolts....torqued to factory specs......with a torque wrench dammit!

Oh yeah? Which dealership ripped you off so I know not to go to them? They cinch it down and then make double profit when they charge you to remove/ replace the boogered threads. Sorry lazy basterds.

If you use the right size nuts for the wire size they'll never come off unless you literally twist them off.

It could be argued a house is not a rolling object with tons of vibrations which could potentially loosen or disconnect the wire nut...

Meh been using them for years and never had one fall off.

What side skirts are those again? I think I've seen them once before on.... uhh... was a mulit colored celica then is white with the hybrid GT4/Post facelift bumper. (Can't remember his UN)

My day so far:

Couldn't sleep until about 2AM last night because it was windy as hell outside and the tree next to my room was attacking my windows and walls. I had to open at work at 7:30AM, which sucks because I had no sleep. At about the time I fell asleep, I set my phone to charge. The battery was dying, as it's beeps signified. Fell asleep and woke up at 7:03AM. I didn't know it was this time because when I awoke, my alarm clock was flashing 12:00. This meant the power had gone out in the night while I slept... and my phone was also dead. Great! So I viewed my iPod and flipped **** because I only had 20 mins to get ready and be at work. I then looked outside... there was 3 inches of wet, slushy snow on the ground. GREAT... I just put the low-pro summer tires on the Celica too. This meant I would hydroplane all over the place. I looked down and saw the beater wagon was there and decided I'd just take that.

I proceeded to hop in the shower and get ready for work. By the time I had shaved and finished, it was 7:23AM. I knew I wasn't going to be on time, so I called to let work know I'd be running a bit late. (At this point, I didn't know how late I would really be). Put my boots on and dug out the snow brush from the basement, dusted off my winter coat and out the door I went. As soon as I opened the door, I got attacked by my neighbors fallen bush.. Great.. There was a bush across the whole driveway and I had no tools to remove, nor did I have the time. So, I walked over to the wagon to start it. The wagon was also being engulfed by a bush, so I had to climb in the passenger side, rear door to get it started. While it ran, I brushed off the snow. The tree above kept pelting me with slushy snow as I worked. So now I'm wet, cold and tired. I finally get it all brushed off and by this point it was already 7:38AM. I climb back in through the back door and into my driver seat, just as a metric ****ton of snow falls from a tree and tags my boots.

I back out and start easing down the driveway towards the bush. It was just high enough for my hood to slide under, so I went for it and drove through, watching the carwash like effect and listening to the horrid screeching noises across the body. Finally through, and out of the driveway, I head to work.

On the drive, there are cars moving slow and stopped everywhere. (Mind you, this is upstate NY... we are used to snow, but people still FORGET HOW TO DRIVE IN IT WITHIN TWO MONTHS!!! ) I took the long way of sidestreets due to my co-workers warning of the highway that had become a parkinglot. On my way, I almost got rear-ended twice, slid to a stop once (wagon has terrible brakes, no ABS, and it's a Oldsmobile Ciera Supreme with SHOT suspension, squishy tires and weighs as much as a elephant.) and got flipped off/honked at by someone who signaled a full block ahead of time to make their turn when I proceeded to pass them.

Finally at work, I move as quick as I can to get in the door. I get inside, forget to knock the slush off my boots and, of course, almost break my back on the very nicely waxed floors...

Spent most of my work day outside, wet, cold and tired, putting on wiper blades, fixing broken wiper arms, and giving advice to customers. I just wanted some tea and a blanket to curl up in...

My wonderful girlfriend brought me some tea, which made the rest of the day go so much smoother. She's amazing.

So now I'm home, and after cutting down the bush, am exhausted, soggy, but I have what's left of my tea. Hopefully I don't have to go back out in this garbage until tomorrow. The best part is, yesterday it was 56 *F outside and nice. Rochester weather is bi-polar to the max.

wow that sucks and snow? REALLY after the lack of snow all winter it decides to snow in the middle of april? dam i mean i bough new snow tires in November and never even snowed and i just installed summer tires Saturday if that snow would have hit over here i would have been pissed im glad it all turned to rain (but didn't miss me by much according to the maps) at least everything worked out in the end and your celica stayed nice and safe at home could have been worse.
