Do the rears already come serviceable? They seem really different from all other designs. Not sure what you mean, but the rears are direct replacement. The fronts are rebuildable (cartridge type) They just don't seem to be welded in like stock. What I mean is if the rear are just like every other rear for our car or does it come converted to cartridge already? -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

smkr3w, did you install the fronts? I noticed you received shocks for the fronts. Aren't they all suppose to struts? I think that's your question right Syaoran?

These are the fronts
installing the fronts is different from the rear in that the stock front strut assembly will be used. *notice* i take no responsibilty in any issues that me arise from replacing the fronts. i am no expert just a diy kind of person. if you notice the gold nut/washer piece near the top in the above picture. there is a similar one on the stock strut, when you break the seal and loosen it, there is fluid that will come out, assuming either from my shocks being blown or a lubrication type fluid for the shock. i tried to save as much fluid in the strut. and once you pull the stock shock/cartridge out the Stagg shock slides right in, careful as the difference in size causes the fluid to overflow. I did this over an oil catch pan. then take the gold nut/washer and align as to fit over the shock snugly and tighten. as i said before i had a buddy help me out, so it wasnt that difficult. i didnt have a chance to take pics as it was a bit of a mess and my phone was dead anyway not saying this was the most correct way of swapping them out. didnt find much when looking up some info, but i gave it a shot anyway best of luck -------------------- 6gcHeroes:808hectortimmybatmandiegotigamak |

I think by serviceable he means that the bottom bolt hole is adjustable. I had this problem with these struts. When putting them on my car I had about 4.1 degrees of camber on both rear tires. Because of these struts being aftermarket, they can not be adjusted to fix the camber. I guess they make a bolt that is smaller than the stock bolt that have a knob on it, and when you put it in the bottom strut hole you can adjust your camber. The other choice is to have to drilled out from left to right. This is where I stand now, and I can't find the camber fixing bolt kit thing, so now I am down to having to get it done at a shop. Any other ideas?

Any other ideas? Yes. Coilovers offer camber adjustments up top. The camber is NOT due to the struts, but from the lowering springs. That being said, I myself am using MOOG Camber Bolts I bought two off of RockAuto .com (~$12 each). I installed them and messed with the little tab which dictates the amount of adjustment. Though when I got my alignment done the shop re-adjusted the bolts anyway. They brought my camber from about -4.3 to roughly -2.8 iirc. Without higher-end coils there will always be some negative camber. -------------------- 6gcHeroes:808hectortimmybatmandiegotigamak |

I installed rears in my celica yesterday. Seem to work pretty well. Alot better than my worn out ones. My fronts are in still good condition but was going to change them out to just do a full swap out, but the current fromt struts are direct replacement, and i cant remove the canister from the strut housing. So i have to purchase a different type of struts to remove the canister. such as a set of gabriels. I guess ill wait another time to do that.
