Ok guys, here is the thing, Im pissed right now. I ordered the St swaybar, and got the gray color.

I tought i got the green one, unfortunately, I call the place i ordered from and ST website.

And both swear there are no differences, there was never a revision of the bars. the color is just simple change in promotion.

I dont want to get screwed.

the item number is 52217..

help, what should i do....

there was a revision very early into production, but that was soo long ago and so early into release that I dont think you'll have ap roblem. but the very first version was grey and then they were changed to lime green.

the rubbing issue was with the front sway bar, which is the easy one to install, I say install it, and try it.

id hate to install and then remove.

Seriously im pissed. The guy at ST was very patronizing, telling me that there was never a revision, and no problems with the bar. what soever.

im really pissed.

im pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!

what was the exact issue that happened? I looked at the post, and it just said rubbing, but thats not very specific?

as far as I can remember, the bars between 4th 5th and 6th are very similiar and they though they were close enough to be interchangeable, so the first production was made using 5th gens as templates, they rubbed with one of the control arms on one side or something like that. then a member ( either here or celicatech ) sent them OEM 6th gen bars and they revised the design and fixed the issue.

Good Luck !

I think you should be ok, with as many sway bars as they've sold, I dont think they would have hold on to first production ones for this long.

The issue was found on the very first production as part of a GB.

Weird that they even still have the grey? Didn't the revision happen over 5 years ago? I know I've had my lime greens for like 4 years.

Hope everything works out for you man. You try talking to another rep?

Sounds like a similar situation when i got coilovers for my Audi and was sent the right coils, but wrong part # and I called KW and was told that the part I recieved was for FWD Audi's, but the parts had been combined and would now work on both applications.. Of course, I went to install and they were not similair at all. So called back had another guy tell me that was bogus and that I needed the Quattro part... Seriously? Lol, how can you do customer service with so much misinformation... Just kind of wing an answer..

you'll see, the front one is the easy one.

I have to repalce my rack and pinion, so I'll be taking the whole subfram down, I'll take pictures of mine ( green ones ) to companre just for piece of mind, but if you have any problems it'll be too late by then.

it seems about right, so you should be ok.

just finished the front. The driver side inner bolt, is hard because the fuel line is on the way. so makes it more challenging. on to the back...

you'll need to drop the gas tank a little in order to get the old one out and new one in.

you'll agree with me by the time you are done with the rear one lol.

Good luck... I'm curious to know exactly how big of a job that is and how much of a difference it makes. Not just "Oh, it's great, I love it" but an actual before and after comparison.

If you want Norberto - I have yet to install my front green ST bar, I could take pictures after work tonight for comparison to the pics you took ^^ up there.

LMK.

If there are any issues; you won't notice them until you start driving. IIRC - the first revision bars were missing a bend and as a result the bar would "grind" on the actual cabin chassis.

One of the bars rubs on the body somewhere.
