Streak free windows!, Cleaning/wiping them Options

So I've tried using the squeegee and towels and paper towels. They all have left streaks or water marks. So what's a good method of cleaning and wiping down our windows?

Hit it with either [whatever glass cleaning product you have] or a moist chamois depending on how grubby it is, then give it a polish with a microfibre towel or similar.


Glass is an annoying thing to get legitimately clean, but elbow grease with a clean microfibre gets pretty much anything done :3

I've had good luck with alcohol wipes. They clean it real well, and evap quickly. If you've gotten all the dirt off, their won't be streaks.

Denatured alcohol or vinegar works nice. Can use newspaper or some other lint free material.

When drying your car off after a wash, use newspaper.
Best thing ever to use.
Sounds rediculous, but it works.

We used glass cleaner and some regular old newspaper, it came out surprisingly clear. You would think that the ink would cause problems, but it really doesn't.

Newspaper ink is made from soybean oil so it should be all good.

I find the foamy window cleaner in a can works the best.

Also, don't clean your windows in direct sunlight, if you go in the shade, it will help reduce the streaking

Call me stupid, but using carnuba wax works. Wax on wax off done.

When using newsPaper you don't even need to use a cleaner. Just dry after washing and you'll be good to go

Wax or sealant will both do a nice job -- I use Stoner's Invisible Glass, then go over the window with Meguiar's NXT 2.0.

for me, I usually wash my car then dry from top to bottom.

then I use Stoner's Invisible Glass as well. or any other automotive glass cleaner. Don't use windex or home window cleaners (they have ammonia in them and will kill your plastic) look for ammonia free cleaners.

and then I use a waffle weave glass towel.

"While microfiber glass towels work great, you can go crazy trying to keep the different towels and their purposes straight. You can end up with dark blue, light blue, green, orange and pink towels, which can get nuts! The waffle weave glass towels are the best general-purpose towels, and they work great on glass and clear plastic.
If you're looking for a specific glass microfiber towel, generally the towels with a deep, plush nap do not work well on glass. The best microfiber towels for glass have a low pile and a tight weave. The tight weave gives them a little more scrubbing power."

I agree with using newspaper to wipe windshields. I've always used it and has worked every single time.

Invisaglass aerosol and a balled up paper towel. Balling up a paper towel allows for a bunch of edges to grab instead of trying to wipe flat. Makes less work. Invisaglass wipes completely clean too.
