Added gear oil, fixed a feedback issue with my amp (alternator whine/ground loop) and also patched a large rust hole in the driver rear wheel well.

Installed Nokya Yellows as my DRL/High beams.
Yes, unfortunately we need Daytime Running Lights. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

Really, are older vehicles just not grandfathered in? I don't see the point of daytime running lights anyway, by the time I see the lights I've already seen the car.

Its required on every car, regardless of the year, unfortunately.
It does help in bad weather though, such as rain or snow, it significantly increases the distance you can see a vehicle at. On the highway as well. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

In Canada, it wasn't until after December of 1989 that DRLs became mandatory. Cars built prior to that date are allowed to drive without DRLs.
I might be the only one that likes the idea of having DRLs. There are some occasions where DRLs do help and that's when the sun is sitting low on the horizon directly in front of you nearly blinding you of any cars travelling towards you. and you're looking to make a left hand turn. Most northern countries have to face this problem because of the low angle of the sun that happens especially during the winter months. Travelling eastbound on a winter morning and with no buildings or trees to block the sun is really hard on the eyes. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Ahh so I stand corrected.
I thought it was all vehicles that required it for safety. I don't like the idea of having to have them, but I can definately understand why, it makes coplete sense. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

On the highway as well. Then that's what headlights are for...? Sorry, I'm used to a VERY lax set of laws when it comes to what's needed for a car to be road legal. They don't even do a visual inspection or emissions test. Quite frankly I don't know if I could ever get used to having to deal with such. Pulled up next to a DMC12 with HER windows down ... asked her if I could see her Flux Capacitor before my brain could tell me how stupid that sounded coming out of my mouth. Open mouth, insert foot

Believe me, its 20x worse here than just having to have running lights. But yea, some people are too stupid to tur on their head lights at appropriate times. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

I see that a lot in Florida when it's raining, just makes me so mad that they're too ignorant or unfocused to flip a switch. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

Those are the people who should have their licences revoked. License tests should be more stringent... I don't see how half the people out on the road passed.

Those are the people who should have their licences revoked. License tests should be more stringent... I don't see how half the people out on the road passed. Especially since everyone here is old. Re-testing for license should be instated, yearly from age 65 on. I'm tired of lagging behind Rhonda in her boat of a Cadillac. Unfortunately, public transportation in Florida is nonexistent, so everyone has to drive to get anywhere. It's a sad conundrum really. Back on topic... Indeed.
Ehh, today I thought about the possibility of somehow putting on a 5GC front end on my car. Then probably figured it'd be impossible without loads of fabrication. Considering out of the FWD Celicas the 5GC has my favourite front and the 6GC has my favourite rear, seemed like an interesting possibility. Oh well. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
