Well, I was with my friend this weekend over at UGA. As we were driving along, another friend cut us off. I was in the passenger seat with my friend daniel in his 350Z and he decided to pass them and get back in front of them for cutting him off.
Well, the road curved to the right, and a raccoon was in the road. We hit the raccoon and started to fish tail. My friend over-corrected to the right, so he tried to go left... when he did, we did a 180 and went across 4 lanes of traffic facing the wrong way. Barely missed hitting 2 other cars, then hit the curb sideways. Then we went through this guys yard and took out a fence. At that point the back end hit a tree and popped the car verticle. It spun around and landed upside down in some kudzu. Needless to say, the car is totaled. The amazing part is, my friend and I both walked away un-hurt for the most part. I cut my hand a bit and I'm a little sore, as is my friend, but we're alive. We took some pictures of the car the next day with my other friends camera. I'll try and post them to my profile if I can get the pics off him. I will say this, the car definitely held up pretty well considering. 5-Star crash rating seems to be pretty accurate. |

Well, his parents own a gas station, cleaners, and a dentist office. The 350 was his graduation present...
Personally, I'd rather have my celica that I bought, maintain, and insure with my own hard earned money anyday. |

Glad to hear you're ok, its really a trip to think that had a few things been different you would not be here right now....I can say that because I totalled my car and should of died as well...still, what a trip.

the car is totaled... big deal, his parents will buy him a new one. you guys walked away fine, great.... but what about the raccoon family that isnt going to have a mom or a dad?!?!?!

thats pretty amazing that you guys are alright, glad to hear it.
And it sounds like his parents work very very hard for thier money and the life that they can provide to thier children. Its not like money is falling from the sky for him. Good to hear that you're alive after a crash like that. Although it does bring up a point that I've often believed in. Inexperienced drivers shouldn't have sports cars. I've seen too many kids get seriously injured(and a few die) because their parents bought them a brand new Mustang GT or Z28..., and they didn't know how to handle the power in bad situations.
Enough ranting though, at least you're both ok. |

Should have died? then wouldnt you be dead? Theres alot of elements and variables that come into play when in an accident not too mention teams of engineers that design vehicles to withstand forces at key points and save lives in accidents.....well unless your driving an american car, in that case its pretty hit or miss  Working at an airbag factory for sometime Ive seen some pretty amazing wreckage where you'd think noone could survive, but thanks to engineering the people were relatively unharmed. |

Yes...should of died...if I hadn't leaned back and in the middle and covered my head with my arms my skull would of been fractured when the upper left frame of my car was crushed. But yes...I believe in the work of the engineers as well, I know that its probable if I was in another car I wouldn't be here. Thats why I got another toyota =p. |

Definately. You youngin's wont know til your older that you dont really know how to drive. LOL i'm not putting ne body down but you cant expect to be an expert at 16 or 17. And then getting a 350Z, damn my father just got one and seeing some kid driving one around, i'd be pissed. -------------------- |

I agree... that's why I'm happy with my celica, at least for the time being. Being my first car and all, I think it was a great choice. It's quick enough to let me pass people when I need to, but lacks the power to even tempt me to do stuff I know I'd try if did have a faster car. That and I know the celica will last me forever if I take care of it. |
