first off, its not like you need a ton of tools for much of anything, you can get a 100 tool kit from sears, an thta will cover almost anything on a cra, besides getting a engine lift, an that cost's about 50 bucks to rent. And where did welding come in this??, i would like to know what you have to weld, were talking about droping a 3s-gte not a v8.. sorry but im an ass right now....

Ok heres the breakdown. I want a 3sgte swap in my 94 ST coupe. I want everything to work, a/c cruise and all power options. I want a reliable yet fast setup.

As long as all mentioned above are met, upgrades and aftermarket performance I can live with later. I just need something faster than a 115hp car.

Parts: This is all that I know I need- 3sgte motor and tranny, dunno what you call it. The wire harness you guys mentioned. All hoses belts mounting hardware necessary for the swap. I do not know what this clip thing is. What is it?

Ive heard there different models as far as what year the motor was made. Does it matter? Also an LSD would be nice. What price for those that have done it, am I looking at? I will do labor myself but I have no workplace as I live at an apartment. I got some tools and basic mechanical skills. Tune up, changing springs, exhaust, sound system install. The only reason I can't try and do it myself is lack of proper storage and working environment.

I would like to help out in the install as to better understand the process and to learn the do's and don'ts. But unless I can leave my project somewhere and come by every weekend to work on it, it would make more sense for me to find a shop or someone to do it.

Ultimate goal- To have the 3sgte swap done succesfully without sacrificing any of my stock amenities. Power wise 250 hp would be great. Hope this explains my situation a bit. I am very serious but just haven't ordered or done anything this extreme or expensive. I've done some N/A upgrades but thats with the motor still on the car. Thanx for everybody's help.

just think of it this way. You somewhat have to turn your ST into a GT, then drop everything in.

Look, if you have any questions about anything on doing the swap on a ST, let me know. It's not as hard as a lot of people make it sound like. The only thing i recomend is to have every single part you need ready. If you have everything ready, i can guarantee you that it can be done in 2 weekends.

and btw, what do you mean by have EVERY part ready? Got a list i can look at so i know EVERY part?

Thats a retorical question btw....Knowing my luck i'll have to put new wiring to the tail lights or some ****ed up sh*t like that lmao. Something odd always comes up when i work on my car. You gotta change out the fuel system too dont you?

Oh yea and convert it to AWD and add teleport mode too!

You guys are over complicating the situation... its a standard Engine R&R if you have a GT, its very basic, change the motor.... if you have an ST, gather the parts you need to make your car a GT, then get the R&R done after you have all the parts and they can just swap the lot of it when they put it all back in.... very simple, its not like your shoe horning a 5.0 in a miata..

and of course have the wiring done by a professional smile.gif
