Well, I was going to purchase a 6gc initially, but after seeing more than my fair share of poorly kept celicas, I decided to get a FR-S instead. biggrin.gif

How do you jump from wanting to buy a $2,000 car to buying a $25,000 car? laugh.gif

Well... I went from wanting to get a 6gc with A LOT of money left over for restoration and aftermarket customization to getting a car where i have little money to do anything with. biggrin.gif

I don't regret my decision though. Would have taken a lot of money to make the 6gc as fun as the FR-S.

several things piss me off right now.

the FT-86 forums is full of people that have no intention of buying, or have and FRS, will not buy one and just post the most silly things.
there are only a few members bringing good topics. Most of other topics are BS, and weeding them out takes my patience away. (like why this button is round and not square, why this, why that,,, ugh)

Al tough not my problem, because im not going to fall for that crap, there are tons of vendors on EBAY, that sell the "jdm" for ridiculous high prices like 500 usd for vents

There is a lot, of aftermarket support. why does this piss me off?, well because there is like 15% off them that are worth it, 50% crap, and the rest is like Do you want to risk it? so it just adds to the more confusion. Right now its a Buyers beware market!!!! makes me want to wait more time before i waste my money.

I spend more time in this forums, cuz i have more fun. If you weed out all the non-goingtobe-frs users it will be better.

therefore i happily continue to work with my celica, and just drive a stock FRS for now. /rant.

Yeah, the forum was far more fun before the cars were released but now it's just cluttered with complaints and silliness - I check there less and less now but then again I'm one of those soon-to-be FR-S owner's you're complaining about. tongue.gif

As for parts and aftermarket, I think until more people have the cars AND have spent serious money playing with all of the parts available it's just smarter to hold off and watch. I think the only real "upgrades" I'd look into are the OEM mirror, the various JDM/Euro OEM aero parts, and the headlights. Everything else is a wait and see really.

PS: You should take come shots of the FR-S next to your vert - for our benefit. smile.gif

no, if your a soon to be owner its ok, but people are there with no intentions of ever owning one and just cluttering and trollin.

not interested in the jdm anymore for this car. Im not jumping in the bandwagon.

im more into the trd exhaust, trd supercharger and coilovers. and the nurengburg kit. thats it. oh and maybe some wantanabe rims.

The TRD supercharger is on the top of my list but I'm hoping that the Release Series FR-S will debut with one; that plus the Nur kit would be the perfect RS.
