right. two completely different set ups.

unless you are getting a 5s or 3s, you need the 7a mount

I'm actually trying to get my hands on a new passenger motor mount and driver side trans mount for my 94 ST, and haven't had any luck. I got the passenger mount for it at Advance, when I opened the box it's completely the wrong mount for the car... But, it's the only one they have listed for the ST. I got the trans mount at Autozone, and when I opened that one, it was also wrong for my car. Did the ST have different mounts after 1994/1995?

Also, where would you get the poly inserts? I was thinking of going that route instead of a replacement mount (since toyota wants like $200 for each mount, haven't found the proper mounts elsewhere).

Conicelli is the way to go. here I even did the leg work for you
http://www.trademotion.com/parts/1996/TOYO...diagram=8508230

its not $200, and shouldn't be that even from a local. call them with part numbers and tell them you are from 6gc.net they will get you in touch with the right person, and get the online and forum discount. and sometimes if the order is more than so much (usually $100-$200) they ship for free.

Motor mounts are like $40-50, not $200. You should find whoever told you that and shave his cat. Or move his floor mat by the front door. Maybe knock his trash cans over on trash day, after the trash has already been picked up. Do something to cause this person a minor inconvenience. Rock Auto and Toyota dealerships are the best places to get them.

Already been covered and knocked out, but ST's and GT's use different motor mounts. I believe they were the same for all years, but I have seen GT motor mounts look slightly different. They function exactly the same, but look just slightly different

The mounts I need are #3 and #5 in that Conicelli parts page... $169.95 and $88.90 from them. Those particular mounts aren't on RockAuto (my favorite place to get anything). They list Anchor Mount #9525 for the right engine mount, but I got one of those from Advance (exactly that part #) and it was definitely the wrong mount. The same was true of the only transmission mount listed on RockAuto... Got that exact model, same part number from AutoZone, but definitely another wrong mount. I didn't really look much further than RockAuto, Advance, and AutoZone. When I got frustrated and went to the local Toyota dealer, the parts guy pulled them up and basically gave me the MSRP price Conicelli lists. Not sure if that was the actual price he was gonna charge or what, my head was kinda spinning at whatever price he told me.

I'll keep shopping around, though... Obviously that's not the most competitive price, since I got the rear mount off RockAuto for like $18 instead of the $58 they list on Conicelli... tongue.gif

Edit: They have a picture of the wrong passenger side engine mount (that I got)here on the O'reilly's website.

I bought my Celica with 256k miles on the body, and like 160k on the motor. So the motor had already been out and in at least once prior to me getting it. Me and my roommate took it out, only replaced the clutch since I didn't have time for the full rebuild like I was planning, put it back in, rod knock got bad so we took it out again, put a junkyard motor in for a few months, finally rebuilt the first motor, took the junkyard one out and put the first one in again. Unfortunately we kind of abused that side motor mount along the way, and it looks like it could be the original mount for that car... And I'm already up to 267k on the body. So Whenever I get my hands on that side motor mount and the opposite side transmission mount, I'm going to replace the front transmission mount also and it'll be almost 100% fresh (with the exception of the rear mount that we changed out last month).
