You gotta remember, lightweight aluminium hood vs heavy steel hood. Plus the obviousness of physics. I can take a slug and throw it at your chest and all your gonna be is annoyed, but if I shoot it at you faster than the speed of sound, you have a hole in you the size of an orange.

I thought about the hood differences.... but wasn't sure if anyone was privy to the DRASTIC differences between aluminum and steel

I can't imagine he was traveling faster than 70-75 though.... unless he was stretching his new car's legs out...

That's just terrible. Can't really put it into words, after seeing that picture... I know I'd have to sell the car, I couldn't handle keeping a car that killed another person. Regardless of it not being my fault... Still... I highly suggest the new owner seeing a therapist, I know I'd have to.

That is SAD... And yea, putting durability of metals in vehicles into perspective, I nailed a white-tail doe at about 40mph in a ford ranger a few weeks back, and it bent something which pushed the bumper back about an inch... deer couldn't have weighed more than 100lbs, and i was only doing 40... yet i can beat the **** out of that same bumper and no movement what so ever. doubling the weight and speed along with cutting the strength of the front end in half, it's easy to see that kind of damage... still a sad situation though.

I'll let y'all know if I end up with the same/worse luck once I finally get my 3yr FF/3S-GTE swap running... richee3 knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Looking at the car again, its is completely salvageable. Although, BOX you are right. Ive seen some mess in my time, involving dead bodies and such and i couldnt even think about driving a car that killed someone...Much less the graphics that would play in my head after the fact. To the new owner i really hope the best for you as well!

Just heard about this car being wrecked in a completely unrelated post on Facebook. Talk about bad luck...

How's the owner doing? Was it ever fixed?
