Hey everyone,

Currently i have the stock sound system (soon about to change biggrin.gif )

Does anyone know what impedance and power output of the headunit is to the speakers? It's not the jbl sound system, just the normal Toyota branded one with tweeters (if that helps?)

I can handle having the stock head unit for a while, but its just the speakers aren't really handling my music very well kindasad.gif

Or would i be best to do both the speakers and new head unit at the same time?

The cars a 1996

Thanks guys!

The speakers are 4 ohm. On the back of them, they are marked "15 Watt Max." I don't know the RMS output of the head unit or amp though.

In assuming that's the input they can handle. I'm planing on getting some Kenwood 60watt rms, 270watt peak 6.5s for the front and back. So if the stock speakers are 15watt rms, i should probably be fine. Thanks for that biggrin.gif

Yeah kenwood excelon's are pretty good I had those for a while then I got the rockford fosgate T1's and they just blew me away best overall speaker I have heard, we have them in our show truck and it has 2 15's with the T's and you can still hear the highs crisp and clear.

These are what I'm thinking about putting in. I haven't decided what I'm going to do about the front mounts yet. I've even thought of getting 8" speakers, or subwoofers.

Time to bring up this post again.

Has anyone put 8 inch speakers (not subs) in the doors? Any brands that can be recommended? especially for mounting depth and fitting?

I'm asking this because i'll have to order some from overseas and i cannot test to see if they fit frown.gif

Thanks!
