And on another update note,
I installed the hood struts last weekend the day after the TRD strut bar pictured. Need to get a good updated shot of the engine bay. Brought the car to work today to fix a few things with the car. Both lower ball joints were blown out and really noisy, put new ones in Both front tie rod ends had some play, installed new ones today Driver side axle was clicking, put another one in Right rear adjustment arm bushings were blown, installed another arm and alignment all those things made a big difference and make me feel so much better about the car now. I feel like we are making some progress now. -------------------- |

hell yea drool over the engine bay pics!! I love the fact how you guys repainted the intake manifold and valve cover. Oo and white powder coated rims. white on red reminds me of the 5th gen, sort of like rally style. so which one is faster the beams or your green celica?!

Yeah I just used a little hand held electric sander at the end, that just made it a little easier but wasn't really necessary.
Mostly a file, aluminum putty, and a lot of sand paper. -------------------- |

Haven't heard of putty ever being used, but I guess you need to if the rash is really deep. Mine might be just as bad as yours on a wheel or two.

Yeah I found it a long time ago at the Japanese marketplace in Jersey and bought it cause I thought I could use it one day.
I used them on my wheels that are on the green car before we painted them. I had a lot left so I used it on these. Its very nice stuff, it gets very hard yet says very sandable and easy to work with. -------------------- |

Did you use it on all of them or just the worst one? The worst one looks like something just chewed on it when the tire was off.

Did you use it on all of them or just the worst one? The worst one looks like something just chewed on it when the tire was off. Those close up pictures in the last post on the previous page are all of that one really bad wheel. I used the putty on two of them, a little on another one and mostly on that bad one. nice work how much the whole project run? Well we aren't done yet, the car still needs bodywork and paint. The motor swap itself was not bad at all, its all the other little details that start adding up quick. I think my green car, as a whole, has cost me around $12-15k in upgrades over the years. I'm not sure about Dustin's blue car but I'm sure its pretty close to that and I'm sure when this car is all said and done it won't be too far under the other two. QUOTE (14:19:21) Daniel: That was a JDM hole in the side of the box too. There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out. QUOTE Ferdi says (11:29) No, it looks like a hooker put her acid vag on your hood. Acid vag = bigger problem than a few dings. |

can you maybe write down the steps you guys took to fix the wheels, as far as sanding and filing go? I've been wanting to repair my gt-s wheels for awhile now.

hmm how come you guys just didnt swap it into the green celica? $10,000+ invested into the turbo setup, as far as I know. It'd be dumb to sell that. That and the 99 Solara I've been using as a winter car is going to my sister in a few weeks so we needed to have one available to each of us as a 'winter beater'... -------------------- |

Manny welded in a new resonator today. The beams was way too loud, we actually got pulled over a few days ago because of it.
So I bought a Vibrant Performance Ultra Quiet Resonator. It's much better now, I'm happy with the results. -------------------- |
