So here's my Celica as she stands now:

And when I got her, nearly 6 years ago at 139,000 miles:

She's a 1994 GT. Fully stock when I bought it(wheels aside). Perfectly clean. Never been in an accident.

Now it's got whited out JDM Tails, ST Suspensions sway bars, new Konig wheels and Megan Racing coilovers.

A few weeks ago I started getting some possible signs of a broken head gasket. So, I decided to dive in and do something that I've been wanting to do for a while.
So, today I got:
.

Gaskets are on their way. I've already got a new clutch and some motor mounts. New cluster is on it's way too. Just setting to work on electrical until then!

Will you be extending the harness or going through the firewall? Good luck. smile.gif

I'm planning on extending the harness the 40 some inches! Don't really want to have a hole in the firewall to plug.

I extended mine 24" which was still a little too much.

So you'd do closer to 20"? And it's just on the section between the firewall and the first plug (MAF)?

I may pick up a second 5S-FE harness later today, and use that as an idea for length for everything (and probably steal wires from it too).

20-24" is good. Like I said, mine was a little long but I'd rather have it a little too long than a little too short. I extended mine between the MAF and firewall. It wasn't too complicated. Time consuming, yes, but not difficult. Now is definitely the easiest time to extend it, I'm tired of swapping harnesses in the engine bay laugh.gif Picking up a spare 5S harness is a good idea. If its OBDI, it may not have all the same color wires as the BEAMS harness.

Good deal. I'll start on it this weekend after I finish labeling the BEAMS harness and getting it off.

Just picked up a 5S harness, it's OBD1. Some color wires are better than none. I just want to try to have as little generic white/black/blue/yellow in the harness as possible, though hopefully I shouldn't have to take it apart again for a long, long time.

Started work on the wire harness:

Got my gauge clusters in today:

And realized I got a brake upgrade with my engine. I bought a front subframe, so it has the superstrut suspension and the two pot brake calipers! Now to figure out what rotors I need for them.

Still waiting on the gaskets and timing. At this point, that's all I need to take out the 5S and put in the BEAMS!

Those are the gauges from an SS-III.

Also, got the old 5S-FE dyno'd today as a base mark. Not as tired of an old girl as I thought she was:
5S-FE @ 5200 feet elevation.
Short ram intake.
91 Octane.

Good job so far, and good luck on your swap. Finally your Celica will be the car it should've been all this time. Why Toyota ruined the USDM Celica with a Corolla or Camry engine I'll never know.

I have super strut everything in the front. 5s regular rotors are what you want if you use everything.

Been working on the head and block. Unfortunately my time table is set back a bit as I think I'm going to get the head and block machined. There's just too many pits and such of questionable size. Do it once, do it right.

Some pictures though:
