I need to replace the 9012 already, not so much lots of night driving but I drive with the headlights on when it's overcast to increase my visibility.
I think it's just Miatas. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Lumen maintenance, they're not quite as bright as they used to be.

Understandable.
Got the Celica wiped down and a coat of wax on it, also buffed out 80% of a nasty scratch I put on it over the winter through astounding stupidity. Car covers only work WHEN YOU PUT THEM ON THE CAR. Whole car needs a dip in M7 glaze again but it's such a pain in the ass to work with but the results look so good. I need to....strip it, M7 glaze it, clay of some nasty bug guts in a few places, gentle clay most of it, buff out some spots here and there, put a few coats of the good 303 Graphene on it, then USE THE CAR COVER when I'm storing it. Meet is this Saturday so just some wax is fine for now, I don't care that much but it's time for the 2-3 year spit shine session. There's a Circle K on the edge of town, I'm going to go and see if they have that new Purple Mtn Dew and top up the tank with their 'race gas' if it's unleaded. My tank of 93 is 7 months old and it feels like it when I'm driving, I'm hoping a splash of fresh higher octane stuff perks up the remaining fuel for the meet and until I run it out. Darn this car for being so fuel efficient! I don't have time to drive around enough to run the gas down and get fresh normal 93 octane in there. -------------------- |

Good news, you can open the 2ZZ block drain on the back of the engine from the top.
Bad news, I also opened the back of my hand on something razor sharp and probably rusty. Good news, I didn't bleed all over my car too much. Bad news, I didn't get much more coolant out. -------------------- |

Finally got that blasted upper hose off, new hoses on, and 1 gallon of coolant filled. At this rate she should be ready to drive for the 2023 spring meet!
EDIT: Ended up running it this evening and got the thermostat open and system circulated, probably most of the air purged out too. Didn't run till fans came on, I can do that another day. I'll top it up in the morning or before I go to bed tonight and start making the harness for the intake manifold install and planing the vacuum lines out. PCV/breather hoses are some odd sizes on the 2ZZ at the intake manifold end so I need to review how that all goes together so it's a smooth operation.
