QUOTE (Celica_MKVI @ May 19, 2016 - 2:49 PM) *
Looking at the list of parts and the size of the shipping box(70 x 27.5 x 23.6), will fenders even fit in that size of a box? With the side skirts and lips, looks to be a tight fit right now. smile.gif

I will confirm with Edd again, but seeing as this is his largest box I dont see it being too much of a problem.
I think we are getting pretty close to a full box but I am looking to get a few more people in with smaller items.

QUOTE (Zeros2 @ May 20, 2016 - 12:22 AM) *
If I need to go on the second shipment because of room I'm willing to wait just let me know

Will do but I dont think it will be an issue.

LETS START DISCUSSING SHIPPING
This post will be copied and regularly updated in the OP

Please please throw any ideas or helpful input!!!

Shipping from UK to US:

Cost:
So the total shipping amount for the package will be around $500
This is the part were I would like to get some community input on.
The easiest thing in my mind is to evenly cut the shipping cost among all the participants and have them add that cost to their payments for their item(s) they are buying.
People buying smaller things this may not be fair for because at 8 people the cost would be around $60 for shipping when in reality shipping would have been around $40 or so if they were to get their items individually. Also is it fair for a person who is getting 4or more large items to pay the same as someone getting just a pair of spats.
Although this is a favorable price for people getting larger items, I myself would rather have this price alot lower (which means we need more people in the GB) so that when it comes time to ship items out within the US, that price wont be another bourdon to add. BUT we can only pack this parcel so tight, and I will speak to Edd about what is our limit.

Recipient:
I can have the package delivered to my local post office or like courier service (UPS/Fedex/DHL) and pick it up from their facility as to prevent any sort of odd variable of handler damage or theft that might occur if having it delivered to my house. Since I will be getting the package that would mean I would not have to pay for more shipping to my residence as everyone else will have to do, to even this out or make it more fair I can increase my shipping charge from the UK, how much that will be we can figure out along the way

Damage:
Upon receiving the package I will meticulously inspect every item for any damage I believe to have been caused during its shipment and notify the affected buyer and Edd of the issue and will take steps on resolving the problem.

Shipping within the US:

Cost:
At this moment I only have a few large boxes, I can get a bunch more from a local bodyshop to use to ship out the larger items. I am going to grab some of the dimensions of the larger items and start to grab some estimates for shipping.
I can use a specific courier service at each persons request (USPS/Fedex/UPS) along with any desirable insurance additives. USPS will probably be the cheapest for the smaller items but I know you all have experienced some bad times with them in the past as I have too. I believe if I pack the items smartly everything should remain intact.

Shipping payments will be made to me prior to shipping.

I am going to take the location that is listed in your profile and add it next to your name on the list to get an idea of where things are going. Later I will ask for everyones address they would like to use and use that for more accurate shipping costs.

Damage:
Im not sure what actions to take in this situation and any suggestions would be appreciated.

Would it make any sense if I were to be able to join in from Toronto, Canada? I think they tried a Canada group buy and it dropped frown.gif

I would like to reiterate...
Please be aware of the estimated shipping charges from both UK to US and the final shipping within the US (or CA), if you are unsure you'll be able to commit please PM me and let me known

I am planning finalizing and shipping this group buy around MID JUNE

Should I add you to the list then?

It could work out, what are you looking to get? The shipping from the US to CA might be the only crappy part., you would still be saving on the initial shipping from the UK to me.

large item shipping estimates have been updated in the OP.

I am also going to be attending the CSP meet in July, if anyone up there wants any items I cam willing to bring them with me to save $ on domestic shipping.

I can also meet up with people in the NJ/NY/PA/VA and surrounding areas to have items picked up rather than ship

I'm thinking about the Varis Extremor Rear Bumper and C-one Front Lip ST205. I have another person who may join me from Canada so that can help too. Though would there be any way to estimate shipping from US to Canada beforehand?

Thanks!

PM or post a postal code and I will look into it, the bumper is going to be a hefty item. I can say for sure that it will be at or more than $200. As Long as its no more than $400, youll be saving money on shipping. Anymore than that and might as well get it directly from him, BUT i dont see it ever being that much. I will look into this week and see what I can find out.

Still awaiting a shipping quote from Edd for the current list.
It was a holiday weekend for them too so I assume he wasnt able to get much done towards this the past few days.
Hopefully we can get a quote before the end of the week. I would like to be able to give everyone their final owed amount by this weekend so I can begin collecting payments.
