After 7 years as a 3S-GTE swap, the FWD transmission on my GT crapped out about a year ago. Having started the project late in college, and now being a more seasoned MechE the AWD conversion seemed a little less daunting that it was many years ago. Probably 2 months from being road worthy, but only a little bit of fabrication remains for sway bar brackets and an exhaust.

Saving the more interesting chassis photos for when the work is complete, but here are some scoping shots. The goal is to have a nearly stock looking car with a few subtle perks, including

- TRD full adjustable suspension
- C-One strut tower and anti-roll bars (front and rear)
- Hybrid (ball bearing) CT20B turbo by Fensport, uprated to 1.2 bar (~320 bhp)
- Hand painted brake calipers
- So many new screws, nuts, and hoses that I've completely lost count. Specialized fasteners were replaced with Toyota OEM, while generic fasteners were replaced with class 10.9 steel (McMaster)

Oh my... its beautiful! Awesome work!!!

Nice work.

You are missing the big washer that goes on the bolt that holds the sub frame to the chassis.

It's been documented here... It might even be in the stickies....

You'll need a 3s flywheel and pressure plate, with a 5s clutch disk. IIRC, If you call southbend clutch, they know the combo and a bunch of users have had good experience with them.

transmission bolts right up. PrimeDriven sells the Southbend Hybrid clutch kit you'll need.
