A couple years ago I got a 97 celica got. It was good had small issues but ran good for a few thousand miles. Then I couldn’t keep it running. I never had time/money to invest in it but I couldn’t let it go. I finally sourced my problems during my furlough and after a full tune up, fuel filter and pump, new relays, and some cleaning in the engine bay, I found my pcm was destroyed. I got some bonus at work and used it to get a remanufactured pcm and got it installed. It fired like nothing was ever wrong. It was such a huge relief to get it going. Changed the brake pads. Now I am going toput the interior back together, and do some upgrades I’ve had planned but didn’t get to because it wasn’t running. I just wanted to share my story. I’ll post some pics when I get a chance and tell a little more about it. My favorite yet completely unneeded upgrade is going to be an emblem. Well two actually. The front Toyota emblem will be a red dragon emblem I bought on eBay from Russia. And on the rear I’m removing the third brake light from the hatch, and changing the Toyota emblem to a light up emblem that will be my third brake light. I need to repair a tab on the drivers side headlamp also, the top one is no longer connected. I have a touch screen stereo coming in the mail for it. And I plan on refurbishing the stock wheels because why fix it if isn’t broken. That’s all I have for now, I know this forum is not what it used to be but I still come here often when I need an encouraging story and to seek creative ideas.
